THE BEST
I am a commercial grower and grow a huge field of cut flowers for my farm stand. I have been using this make and model of pruuers for four years now and they are light weight, easy to grip, never get stuck shut, always sharp and easy to use. The color stands out so you can find them when you set them down some place you may have forgotten. The best part about these clippers is because I cut hundreds of stems in a day every day and night, my hands don't get fatigued as easy as they have over the years with other brands of clippers. I even use these to cut my sunflowers. I love these and wish I had found them back in 1985 when I started in this business. I also want to add that for the money you can't find better and I have paid a lot more money for other brands of clippers and they can't hold a candle to these.

A year later, still loving these
These are surprisingly sharp and effective for such a lightweight and small pruner. I've tried several pair of Fiskars pruners as comparison, and much prefer the ARS design. Occasionally I come up a woody Mullein plant with a stem too big for these ARS, maybe 1/2 inch width, and then I need the Fiskars with the bigger opening. But other than that these are the ones I carry out to the field ... and they don't give me a thumb blister like the Fiskars pruners do. I have not had to sharpen them yet, and they've had lots of use - probably over 5000 cuts so far.

I really like these, I’m going to buy more for gifts.
I likes these a lot. I got them mainly for deadheading my roses. But they are tough enough to handle a bigger branch. The bright red color helps me find them again if I lay them down in the garden too. I like the spring action that opens them up after each trim and the little loop attached to keep them closed when I want. I also like the fact they have a small blades for fine work and that the blades are slightly blunt at the tip, so if I accidentally stab myself, they don’t draw blood like some others I’ve had.

My faves
As a farmer florist, I have found these snips to be my fav. They don’t end up pinching my hands, the spring stays where is should be, a simple design to keep them closed and not to light or to heavy duty. Good for soft annuals and small woody stems.

Rusted after first use
They are sharp and do cut well, but seem counterfeit. I sanitize all my garden tools with rubbing alcohol, and this got rust spots the very first time! I leave the alcohol on for 60-90 seconds and rust spots started appearing almost immediately on this tool. This wouldn’t happen with genuine ARS products. It hasn't happened with even my cheapest tools. The price seemed too good to be true :/ The previous reviews were so good that I figured it was worth a try. Maybe I just got a dud?

They work, no sheath
They seem pretty high quality. All metal w vanilla cover on handle. used for a full summer cutting trimming pruning of cut flowers. Spring-loaded is nice. Would be even better if it came with a holder or sheath. that's the only reason they didn't get 5 stars. As long as they last 3 years which it seems like they will I would buy again

the craftsmanship isn't on the same level as other ARS tools I own so I don't see this lasting near a lifetime like my ARS shear
I purchased these snips to cut dead flowers and old leaves off plants where regular hand pruners won't reach. The blade is razor sharp and it fits well in your hand. However, the craftsmanship isn't on the same level as other ARS tools I own so I don't see this lasting near a lifetime like my ARS shears and pruners. Out of the box, the blade wiggles which is something I don't expect from a name brand. I noticed that this tool is produced Vietnam instead of Japan. But given the price, I can live with it.

So useful.
I keep having to buy more of these because everyone who works in my garden wants a pair. You’ll have to guard them from being permanently borrowed.

Professional Quality Fruit Shears
For around the ten pound mark, these fruit picking shears are an absolute steal. Made by the long established Japanese company ARS, they're super-sharp and achieve an incredibly clean and easy cut. I recommend them highly. Please note that this tool is made especially for cutting small, soft stems. The needle nose blades are designed to reach into small spaces and cleanly and accurately snip bunches of grapes, small fuits and flowers. They are just as suitable for bonsai and soft stem pruning. What they are NOT designed for is use on thick woody stems, or as a general secateur. Other tools with chunky blades exist for that purpose. Using these in such a clumsy and inappropriate manner risks twisting and breaking the specially hardened (and therefore slightly brittle) carbon steel blades - very likely the origin of the two star review from the customer who broke their pair. Treat them as intended though, and without abuse, and they should last a lifetime.I have large hands, and find these shears easy and comfortable to use. The carbon steel will naturally discolour and take on a patina on contact with sap, but that's not a negative. I recommend wiping them with Camelia oil after use, in the traditional Japanese manner for rust prevention of your precious tools. Hardened carbon steel will take a sharper and longer lasting edge than stainless steel, which is why many professionals prefer it. A stainless version is available if you prefer looks to function.

Ergonomically balanced and sharp
Wow. I was weary of the reviews but these pruners are superb. They have the right ergonomics to fit comfortably into my male hands and the weight distribution (which is central - just below the spring/red plastic grip) is well balanced. They are connected in place well throughout and I can't see them coming undone unless with a hammer/force.The sharpness is welcoming and I don't envisage them blunting anytime soon. The spring action is light but sturdy and the action is smooth but easy to snip. The plastic band is attached well and tight. The weight of these are 117g, with roughly 45mm of cutting edge down to where it overlaps. Overall length is 190mm as described. After using so many different variations of pruning snips over the years, I have to admit these are the best yet for the reasons listed about and a very competitive price (<£10) compared to the more expensive brands (which I have also used and lost over the years).I would not hesitate to buy another pair of these if in the event I misplaced them. Fantastic product overall.Overall a superb set of pruning snips that

Sharp, effective shears
These shears are superb. They were bought to replace old ones that I was really struggling to cut back garden plants with. These however, are very sharp and easy to use. It has made trimming or cutting back a range of plants a very easy task. Would definitely recommend them to others.

A good quality gardening tool.
A nice pair of shears. Well made and very sharp. Blade sharpness lasts along time. Easy to resharpen when needed. I did find that the blades discoloured when I forgot to clean them after use but this does not stop their effectiveness.

High Quality
I have used a variety in my professional capacity of secateurs snips shears etc over many years, much of it comes down to personal preference at the top end but that daily usage always shows up the shortcomings and durability. These are very good snips, the blades are quality steel and unlike the Bahco version do not "give" or start to spread on tougher jobs, very sharp and I would expect with the reputation of this company that the blades hold their sharpness some time before sharpening is necessary, one thing for me I would have preferred longer handles as I have large hands.
