KastKingPerigee II Fishing Rods, Casting Rod 6ft 6in - Medium Heavy - Fast - Two Pieces One Tip Rod

Was going to a local small lake to try it out and was putting it in the back seat of my truck and had to flex the tip just a small bit as I was putting it in and the end 8" broke off. Didnt make it 1 time to the water. I was hesitant to purchase a 1 piece rod being shipped but thought I would try this 2 piece out since it had good reviews and it would ship more compact. It arrived packed extremely well in a ridgid thick tube so I was impressed. I really liked the sensitivity of this rod before it broke. I repaired the rod myself by adding a new tip but it's pretty stiff now missing the 8", but I'll still use it on a secondary reel. I didnt contact the company because I feel it was more my fault...BUT I was at Wal-mart later and was looking at 1 piece rods and I barely flexed the tip on another popular Graphite brand and it broke immediatly so it could be just an issue with others too.

So here is my take on the full product experience from KastKing: This is the very first KK rod I have purchased. I was interested in the rod so I read almost all the reviews. There are 40 different potential choices on that drop down menu. I was wanting the "2 piece rod*twin tip*" two for one version that is standard language in all the box descriptions but I selected by accident the "2 pcs rod MH" instead. Now grant you this was my mistake. I called kast king and spoke to a very nice gentleman named Paul. He walked me through my mistake in the order process. yep, there it was in bold letters and numbers at the top of 40 drop downs "Cast twin -tip 7- M&MH 2 tips +1 But..."but but but I got the one that was yeah... 49 bucks vs a 59 dollar combo M &MH tip. So there is nothing else to say other than be careful when you order and be careful when landing a fish or setting a hook because carbon fiber is light, yet brittle and I don't care about modulus shmodulus. It's gonna break if you horse it in. Paul has already warned me "being a kayak guy" and to be asking for my free spool of braid since they hosed, I mean I mistook English my primary language with the quote "TWO FISHING RODS for the price of one! KastKing Perigee II Two Piece Twin-Tip carbon fiber spinning rods and baitcasting rods each comes with two rod tips - Medium and Medium Heavy or Medium with Medium Light power. Best value in the fishing tackle market!<<< may be true but someone needs to market this more clearly and distinguish the drop down menu without all the confusion. 10,000 ataboys and one fubar will get you nowhere. Hey Paul, how in the world do you fish off of that boat you sent me a picture of? Do you use 500 feet of KastKing braid wrapped around 8 inch guns and troll? ;-) send me my spool.......

I've probably casted it 150-200 times and the last time was today. I casted normally with an animated baby bluegill lure not heavy at all and I normally use top water frogs / poppers and it broke as soon as I casted. I put sad face because it worked so well before it broke and I was very happy with the rod and kast king Megatron great combo but I missed the chance to spot fish that snakehead so I'm very sad. Idk how returns or replacements work with this company though.

This casting rod is spectacular! Looks amazing, feels super comfy in my hand. Paired this with the KK Valiant baitcasting reel. What a pair! I definitely recommend this purchase as you cannot get a better rod for the price!

I paired this with the Kastking Royale Legend II baitcasting reel and what a pair they are.I'm hoping this 6'6" medium heavy fast will be just the thing for fishing from my kayak. Beautifully crafted with really nice quality eyelets and comfortable grips and features found on more expensive rods, I really like this rod, one of the best I've owned.For under 90 bucks all together you won't be disappointed especially if this is your first baitcasting rig and you're not sure if you are going to like it or not.Not a huge investment for so much quality, don't hesitate to give it a go, it would make an outstanding gift for someone else if you find it's not for you!
