The Best of Lopi

There are many wonderful patterns in this book. I have made one of the sweaters and plan to make a hat and mittens also. The book is large and easy to read. The last few pages of the book show all the colors of yarn available to order for making the Lopi patterns. Icelandic yarn is very durable. I'm so grateful for the lovely Icelandic sheep that give us their wool so that we can make such lovely, warm sweaters, socks, hats, mittens and scarves. I love this book and will refer to it often.

I fell in love with the designs years ago when I got it from the library. I agree with a earlier reviewer about some of the gastly color choices, but that does not detract from the beauty of the patterns. All the available yarn colors are at the back so you can pick your own. The best thing is that all the patterns are written for all sizes of children's or adult's, some for both, so you can make them for anyone. Can't wait to knit some of these.

Love this book and as a Lopi knitter I find the patterns beautiful. There are many patterns to choose from and are updated from vintage Lopi pattern books. All the pictures are in color and the book is a treasure to keep. Also included are pages about the history of Icelandic wool and Istex.

I like many of the patterns and hope to knit some of them, but I am disappointed that all of the cardigan patterns are knit back and forth instead of in the round with a steek. Since this will be my first adventure in multi-color knitting I don't want to worry about working the purl side, or reading charts in both directions.

A terrific resource for knitting Icelandic sweaters. So many wonderful patterns, I'll be using this book for years to come. LOVE!

I love this book. It has the exact patten that I want to make. I have the yarn but it is so far in my stash waiting for time. As most knitters know we have great ideas, buy the yarn and books, sometimes we even start the projects only to have them end up as WIP's(works in progress). The problem is time. I still plan to knit this sweater but have not started yet.

I love the patterns in this book. I raise Icelandic sheep and the patterns work well with a nice medium to bulky two ply handspun yarn as well.
