Super cute!
My daughter is 5 years old, and I read this to her, and it is considerably longer than the typical book we read together. Despite that, she was able to pay attention and was well-engaged throughout the book. She even asked me to read it to her again the following night, and it was clear she had absorbed what the book was about from the prior evening. She enjoyed the illustrations and they helped her connect better to the material (she cannot read yet).As a parent, I found the message of the book to be nice and endearing. I’m a pretty strong reader though and I will say I made a lot of mistakes in reading the book, tripping up several times because of unnecessary words added in. Obviously, it did not bother my 5 year old though as she asked me to read it again, and seemed to understand what the book was about. As a parent, I like that it’s talking about issues of friendship - especially since my child just started kindergarten. It’s very timely and I could see it really helping when these issues arise for her!

Meaningful book with great illustrations
This was an amazing book with a wonderful lesson for kids. The vivid colors of the peacock on the cover of the book definitely caught my daughters (age 5) attention. She was captivated by the interesting story of Pepper and his friends meeting a new bird named Preston and feeling a bit jealous of the attention that Preston was receiving. Although Pepper was feeling envious of their new friend in the beginning, he realized that Preston was just like him and it’s better to accept himself for who he is because his friends love him regardless of the color of his feathers. It was a wonderful tale that teaches about morals and acceptance, which we absolutely loved. I would recommend to anybody looking for a book for kids that’ll teach them that everybody is special in their own way.

Cute story.
Good story and cute pictures. Paperback book got a crease in it during shipping. Should have had some cardboard around it.

Informative story about friendship and feelings
This is a really cute story about a bird who is experiencing jealousy and inadequacy for the first time among his group of bird friends. I like how the author ended the story on a positive note and addressed each feeling the main bird was having. The colors throughout this book are also really beautiful. They are rich and deep, giving kids all sorts of different colorful items to draw their eyes.

Very Relevant Story
Jealousy is felt by every child. The fun characters in this book show the reader how jealousy affects friendships and how to deal with it. A warm ending to the story results when all the friends talk together and resolve the conflict. Great book!

Cute story with a lesson!
This is such a cute story and even provides some lessons as well. Great way to talk to your child about feelings if being insecure or not as good as other children.
