Very Useful!
Upon learning from my doctor that I have Stage-I Chronic Kidney Disease I ordered this book. There is a ton of information online but this is a handy, affordable little book that has the answers you are looking for. It is carefully written so that you can understand it without having any prior knowledge of the subject. You can get a used one inexpensively or go ahead and buy a new one. Either way it is a good investment.

Kidney Disease book
This book has the basics...is ok...but I still didn't know what to do to help. It has some ideas. Now brand- Detox support and eating cooked cabbage made more urine come out of me. Lowering my Vit C level may have also helped. I was taking extra Vit C to help my body...going back to my normal amount may have helped my kidneys. I am drinking more reverse osmosis water. I had a scare...was very dehydrated and water went straight through me...in and out and I got more dehydrated each time and dry mouth etc.. I am ok. I need to eat no gluten/dairy/soy/sugar and take vitamins/good oils and LDN. The LDN is like a diuretic but a miracle to help Celiac and kidneys. When I first took LDN...slime came out of my kidneys..maybe an infection. I am healing...thank God I am ok..but I was scared. This book helped...but I had to figure it out mostly myself so I was ok. I do IV chelations that may also hurt my kidneys...but save my life...so my kidneys are dealing daily with many substances. God is real....keeps me alive....I thank him! This book talks about a low protein diet. My Celiac diet is low protein...perfect diet for kidneys. Celiac may hurt kidneys due to inflammation. Tests may not work to diagnose Celiac...but eating this way and taking LDN, vitamins/good oils may save the kidneys. Best wishes.

Well written book for anyone struggling with kidney disease, or other kidney related problems. Easy to understand. Well written.
A good amount of information, and not too difficult to read. I gained a lot of knowledge from this book. My Grandmother has kidney problems also and I lent it to Her to read as well. She was pleased with the information She got from this book. I would recommend it. Dr. Snyder is very knowledgeable about renal issues. It was interesting to learn how the kidneys work with your other organs, and how it will effect your entire body if one of your organs are not working properly. This book arrived quickly, in good condition. It’s written well, I was able to understand the book, it wasn’t like I was reading something in a different language like some of they other medical books I have tried to read in the past. Yes, I would recommend this book to anyone with kidney problems, or care takers.

A great "How to save your kidneys"
Even though I own a health food store and my family always tried to be "healthy", my daughter came down with glomerulonephritis when starting high school. After ICU and biopsy, noone could come up with a cause. After she started dialysis, I googled day and night. My wife and I decided to take out her dental braces and remove the gluten and cow casein from the diet. As far a supplements, she got off the one a day children's chewable and started taking about 25 capsules daily. Shortly afterwards, her doctor took her off dialysis and removed her catheter. He likened her recovery to a miracle. When I read Dr. Snyder's book and on page 68 he listed gluten, cow's milk and food allergies as inflammatory triggers of glomerulonephritis, I was quite happy to find a nephrologist that agreed with my daughter's homemade treatment. I read his entire book twice and will probably read it again. There are so many things beneficial to the kidney that anyone can do themself. I am always looking for more ideas as my daughter still has some proteinuria and is still on alternate day prednisone. If anyone wants to see the details of her case look at [...] or to contact me send an email to [email protected] - Brian Flanagan.

Sensible, clearly written and easily comprehensible
No hidden agendas. It is well organized and the index works well. Information about CKD status and progress was really revelatory to me.I have the NKF book "LIVING WELL WITH KIDNEY DISEASE" . It's bland and copyrighted in 2007. One would think that an organization dedicated to a disease would be current. Don't get me started on the incompetent management of the NKF.I spent my 40 year working career working with physicians in all specialties on a national basis. Doctors of Osteopathy always struck me as practical, self-effacing, knowledge seeking, patient caring healthcare providers. More so than the more common and "illustrious" MDs. IMHO.

What You Must Know About Kidney Disease
Not long ago, I started seeing Dr. Snyder as a patient. I have found him to be extremely knowledgeable, open-minded, and totally committed to effectively treating his patient by whatever means works.Upon learning that Dr. Snyder had recently written a book, "What You Must Know About Kidney Disease", I was very anxious to read it. The book is written for the patient (in lay terms). Afterreading the book, I came to the conclusion that Dr. Snyder is, not only a gifted physician, but a gifted writer. He has the ability to make the complicated very understandable, in a way that doesnot talk down to his reader. His style is such that, in addition to being easily understood, one is easily able to retain much of what one is reading. It reads so well that it is difficult to put down. This book will be enjoyed by a wide variety of readers having many different needs and interests.
