Smooth as silk, believe it or not@
This fountain pen writes very nicely for a "cheap" pen. It's smooth and fits in my hand just right. The color is ok but that's not near as important as it staying comfortable for longer writing sessions. I shouldn't call it cheap because it glides across paper like some of my $100+ fountain pens do! It's an inexpensive alternative, one that I will be exercising more of in the future.

Good value. Seemingly... now proven good quality
Edit: oct 20 2025 I purchased a third pen in Gold this time, "normal" width. While I liked the other two pen colors, blue and deep burgundy, the gold is just stunning. I won't take the time to read my other review, but I had originally purchased a different brand and found that their nibs broke off easily. I am very happy with this brand. earlier review... This was the second of this pen model that I purchased in the last few weeks. I wrote a review on the first pen which had a medium nib rather than a normal/fine nib. I ordered the second only because I wanted a thinner nib. It was nice that this version came with ink cartridges. My first pen was from a different distributor and did not come with any ink and I had to order it separately. In either case, selection of ink colors doesn't have many black cartridges. I'll have to see how that goes, although the pens did come with a mechanical device to load ink from an ink jar. I've never used a jar before, but I might give it a try.

Good pen, terrible included ink
The pen itself was very sleek and elegant, I found it to be beautiful for the price range. The gold and navy blue stand out and seem distinguished. Good ink, if used, flows well and the weight of the pen is adequate. The problem I had was the included ink. The ink was watery and ran out quickly. It took a few days for it to begin flowing and if you changed the colour, you either had to deal with mixed colours or even more watery ink if you ran water through it to clean it out. The solution was to replace it with more expensive ink. I used Pelikan 4001 in blue and it wrote like a dream, above you can see my writing. So all in all: great value for the actual pen, but switch out the ink if you want good results.

Beautiful well made pen
First, I read the reviews prior to buying it and it was recommended on a Google search site so I felt good about buying it. I bought the red pen and it looks so beautiful in the light. The pen has a good weight to it and seems to be made very well. It writes so smooth and has a consistent flow. No sharp edges! I'm very pleased with it and I recommend it for an inexpensive yet rich looking well made fountain pen. Worth every cent!

It's nice, looks good, comes with everything you need.
Good price.Smooth writer so far.A bit heavy with the cap on the back. Too thick for drawing, or tiny handwriting. I think it is giftable but it does not come in a fancy box. Less garbage always makes me happy. My penmanship has always been klutzy so keep that in mind.

Smooth writing and sharp looking
This does not feel like an $8 pen. At least that's what I paid for it at the time of this review. The pen is heavy but not uncomfortable. I typically prefer to post my pens but the cap does not fit snugly on the back of the pen. It just sits there so I don't bother. This is one of the only pens I own that feels better unposted so I'm not complaining. The pen writes incredibly smoothly out of the box. My only complaint is about the included ink. It's fine. It works as it should. It's just terribly boring. It writes well with no skipping or bleeding or feathering etc. It's just boring ink. Even colors that should be nice like purple and green are too dark to be interesting. Sometimes I struggle to tell they are anything other than black. That could be down to lighting however. I appreciate there was any ink included at all. Fortunately this pen can use just about any ink you throw at it so I will be getting some Noodler's or Waterman ink to use with it and I expect it to take this pen to the next level. ----Update 4/18/2021---- As I suspected better ink makes this a better pen. I have used it with cartridges from Private Reserve and bottled ink from Monteverdi. The nicer ink provided a smoother writing experience and the colors are decidedly more interesting and vibrant. The pen includes a converter so consider purchasing a bottle of ink to go with it. After all using bottled ink is half the fun of a fountain pen.

Used fountain pen advertised as new
Item arrived used! Ink cartridge was already installed and near empty. Only 8 cartridges instead of the 10. It would cost me more money to return it.

The pen looks and feels good. Quality seems fine for the price bit the writing experience is so and so. For short messages it is fine but for continuous writing it is useless. Tip is too stiff and ink flow is not good even with pump instead of cartridge. For a cool looking pen in the shirt pocket it is fine but for serious writing I would recommend adding a little more and get a Lamy Safari which is almost the same price but on a much better level.

The web photo drew my attention. After getting confirmation from other customers regards the pen holding section being (a bit) triangular shaped) in section I bought it. 5 decades ago my mother gave me a silver Parker for passing exams. That had a grip section like this pen but more pronounced. It was the most comfortable pen I ever used. Like an idiot I gave it away some time during the years in uni. I cold never write fast enough at lectures with fountain pen as copared to ball point. Anyway, for the past decaded been keeping an eye out for an affordable fountain pen so as to sign bank cheques properly. Found ball points a bit "slippery" for want of a better description - I cold never get my signature just write. The ball points flides across the paper too fast. I haven't found s aimilar Parker again but even if I did I am not sure it would justify the expense just to sign cheques. Anyhow, this low cost fountain pen; it is good to very good for the grip section. The balance is not quite perfect but good enough - I would prefer to have the top on the (bottom of) pen when I write to add weight but it falls off quite often. However, for the price, have to score it 5 stars.

The two-tone nib is very nice, great weight to the pen, feels expensive and is very enjoyable to write with.
