It Won't Turn You Into Doctor Doolittle, But It Will Help You Understand Your Dog Better!
Having a dog is a wonderful thing. I have a Corgi/Lab mix and she is really something else. She's as long as a lab but only as tall as a Corgi. She gets stares everywhere we go. I thought I knew all about communicating with her. She brings her favorite toy when she wants to play, she stands by her food bowl and whines when she wants something to eat, and she pushed her water bowl to the sink with her nose when it is starting to get low. After reading this book, I discovered there is a lot more my dog is trying to tell me then what I was picking up. Monefa covers topics such as the ancestry of dogs and the history of their domestication. Then he covers certain sounds and facial expressions that your dog may use to try to tell you they are not feeling well. This is a very interesting and educational read that is written in Monefa's fun and educational tone. You will learn a lot more about your dog and how to communicate with them than you ever thought.

Practical advice
I found the read to be very helpful and I will certainly be keeping what I have learned in mind in the future.I currently have a Finnish Spitz, which is a very vocal and expressive breed compared to others I have owned in the past so I must say the section regarding "the basics of the language of the dog" has already proven to be especially useful. Highly recommended!
