Mohenjo Daro

I saw this in the theater in 2016, and loved it. I have never understood why it didn't gain a wider audience. Yes, it's predictable but the appeal is in the journey getting to the end we all knew was coming. This journey has the ever-astounding Hindi superstar Hrithik Roshan going for it as well as gorgeous music by legendary composer A.R. Rahman. (And yes, I have the soundtrack, too.) Using only instruments that would have been available in that time and place, (according to one report I read) Rahman creates some exquisite, haunting pieces. Pooja Hegde as the heroine is lovely. Ashutosh Gowariker heavily researched the archeology of the city and, while some aspects of the costuming might be a bit...much...it's a minor issue on which to suspend disbelief. Despite Gowariker's research, the history is not as accurate as it could be. Mohenjo Daro was gradually abandoned, not done in by a single disaster, and it's end came about a thousand years after it is destroyed in the film. (Also, yes, Mohenjo Daro, which means "mound of the dead" was not the name by which the city was known in antiquity. As we have yet to decipher the script the citizens used, we don't know what they called it.) Details, details. Watch this film for the romance, the glorious photography and music, and Hrithik Roshan being the quintessential romantic hero.

Great movie with amazing talents . The only thing you will have a problem with are the tiny subtitles made by the movie company who produces the DVD video . If you can enlarge them on your player or have a way to another way be prepared to do it these are tiny .Other than that the movie is brilliant the acting is brilliant and the storyline is beautiful. Love this movie! As a high fan of Jodhaa Akbar, I instantly loved this film. It was shipped fast and in great conditions. Works in U.S region and had English subtitles.

I really loved this video and thought the quality was great as well. Hrithik Roshan is one of my favorite actors and he as great in this this movie.

I liked this movie. Great costumes and actors. DVD was free of damage and fast delivery.

Good quality DVD and a good story line. I like Hrithik Roshan's acting and of course his dancing is awesome.

Love! Love! Hrithik Roshan movies one of my favorites!! Love his movies and love him! If you like history and action packed movies with a little Hindi romance you will enjoy this one. If you just enjoy watching Hrithik Roshan then it is a must have to your movie collection.

HR is trying to push the actress ( don’t remember her name) in the script to get her start...but she is so bad and... she has no connexion with Hritikh Roshan.

I cannot see why the film was bombed which must have been overlooked. Basically it showed history and emotions the individuals the go through. It was fantastic. Sorry to say there should be more film critics regarding what should be in or what could've improve a bit. The performances of all the actors were very good can't fault it. Fantastic film

Mohenjo Daro is very uneven, and the lingering feeling afterwards is that it's nowhere near as good as it should have been. The first half is engaging in its earnest simplicity, and Hrithik Roshan is compelling as the wide eyed and good hearted Sarman. The music, all of which is relegated to the first half of the movie (to its overall detriment), is absolutely enchanting, and really helps carry the film. When the second half inevitably has to follow up on its thin overarching plotting and becomes bogged down in stern looks and determined walks, it becomes very uninteresting, however. Though Roshan does his best to imbue his character with a powerful sense of conviction, the film lacks palpable friction, making the last half quite bland. Big things happen, but it never feels particularly grand.If you are content with *wonderful* music, a cartoonishly simplistic but charming romance, and a sometimes beautiful but overall decidedly OK movie, you'll likely enjoy Mohenjo Daro. If you're a particular fan of Hrithik Roshan in things, that's obviously a big plus, too, and probably accounts for a full star for me, to be perfectly honest.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film which is a departure from Hrithik's usual films.

Il regista di Mohenjo Daro Ashutosh Gowariker ama la storia, è innegabile... e riesce sempre a fare bei film. In patria viene speso contestato per la mancata fedeltà agli eventi realmente accaduti, ma a me importa poco, i suoi film storici/avventurosi sono visivamente molto efficaci e godibili; ben recitati, secondo i canoni dell'industria cinematografica indiana; belli i costumi e le ambientazioni; belle le colonne sonore e le coreografie; bravi gli attori.... stesso attore (Hrithik Roshan, bello e bravo come sempre), stessa produzione e stessa colonna sonora di A. Rahman del precedente film Jodhaa Akbar, che però resta insuperato e insuperabile.... e poi c'è Kabir Bedi.... Lo consiglio a chi piace il cinema indiano, a chi ama Hrithik Roshan e Kabir Bedi (già insieme in Kites)... e magari è un modo per iniziare ad apprezzare Ashutosh Gowariker, uno dei più bravi registi indiani (secondo me)... Il formato è blu-ray (ottimo come sempre) e il film è in hindi con sottotitoli in inglese ben impostati. Per i temerari e le temerarie come me: buona visione!
