Q: Is the length of this leg lifter rigid, like perhaps with a metal rod insert? Or is it floppy? Any help appreciated.

The strap is floppy, the idea is you hook your foot into the stirrup at one end and use one of the handles to pull your leg, in my case into my car. It's tricky to get your foot into the stirrup and even harder to extract it, once you are in the car. Most times I just pull the strap under my knee and pull my leg in. I would not recommend this item
