I would give it five stars if it wasn’t so darn expensive. They stay on very well (my wound is under my thigh near buttock) and are very comfortable. Seems to allow it to heal faster because it is not being irritated by the movement of sitting and transferring into a wheelchair.

Buyer Beware!
Mepilex makes superior products, especially the AG bacteria foam dressing size 4x4, which this product isn't. The wound covering area of this bandage is about 2x2 inches only. it is surrounded by some adhesive substance. so if your wound is more than two inches, this product is not suitable. They need to improve their product description.

Excellent for scarring and reducing change frequency!
This. Stuff. Is. Amazing.I have extremely thin skin from long term prednisone and I have bruised from other bandages or had skin peel off with the bandage. This does NOT happen with these. Even in a drenching shower the bandage is perfectly fine as long as you smooth out the edges and make sure it is stuck to the skin around the border. Dont worry about pressing too hard, it still comes off like silk. It may be counter intuitive to have this slightly sticky substance that covers the bandage to be applied directly to the open wound but be assured that this is perfectly ok. My dermatologist recommended this and even gave me 2 to take home. She explained that it may not form a scab with this over it. And that is OK. In a moist environment the new cells actually cover better and are way less likely to appear like a scar (theres less of a skin tone change between scar and regular skin). You will realize that this is a semi-permeable membrane with the bandage sponge that maintains just enough moisture under the vandage, if when you take it off and put a little water on it you will see that the water is absorbed into the pad. If you leave it there long enough it would show on the other side but not actually seep through. These things are stupid expensive but coming from someone that has multiple lacerations on my legs sometimes at the same time and usually from running into a chair or table or a dog jumping. MAKE SURE you cleanse the area very well. My routine now is to wash the wound with soapy water, then put silver sulfadine cream and a regular non stick gauze and some absorbent gauze over the wound. I then wrap my leg with an ace bandage just tight enough to stay in place but not cut off circulation. Use the ace bandages from here that have the velcro ends. It makes keeping it in place easier and they are made out of the same elastic as your underwear hem so through them in the washer every few days. Mine have lasted over 2 months of wearing, rotating through. Anyways I digress, after the bleeding has stopped and I'm fairly certain the silver sulfadine has done its job, I then rinse it to get most of the sulfadine off and then let it dry for a couple minutes but not long enough to form a scab and then I put an appropriately sized one of these on. Make sure you get a bandage size to give you a little bit around the edge so you cover the wound with the spongy part. Note the actual size of the sponge because the securing edges (he border part of this) are fairly wide. The first change I may only get 2 days out of but after the first change I can usually go 3. This includes showering everyday. Making sure to tap down the edges before each time so the water doesn't permeate into the bandage. Of course if I see that theres been a lot of seepage I change it. When it gets wet it gets kinda pruny like your fingers when in water for too long. this is fine because once your out itll smooth back out. Also there will be little dots that raise up and feel tacky. This is the weird sticky goo that is on the underside. It appears to swell up when water hits it.Competitors like silicone bandages come close if you want to do daily or multiple times a day changes but if it isn't seeping much at all this should do excellent because it reduces changes and also helps tremendously with the healing.Anyways, I hope this provides insight into one way to use these and also you'll understand why this'll change the way you do long term wound care for a while!

Excellent product for preventing skin breakdown/bedsore in Sacrcoccygeal area for bedbound or debilitated incontinuent patients
Excellent product. Great for debilitated, bedridden patient. Especially somebody who uses diapers and has an overnight wetting issue. It is not only useful for protecting the sacrococcygeal area from overnight urinary incontinence but also a great product to use to prevent any skin breakdown and patients that are high-risk for Nocturnal incontinence. Works well for any pressure point area!

Excellent for chronic would management!
These are amazing bandages. I should clarify that these are not what you would want for minor cuts or scrapes. They are more for wound care or post surgical areas. I am extremely allergic to most adhesives used on bandages and tapes but these are fine. The thing that I like most about them is that they absolutely do not, EVER, stick to the wound or pull on newly formed skin. They stay pretty well and you can lift up to inspect area and re-stick with only a slight loss of adhesive. I have used some bandages that if it even barely comes in contact with itself the entire thing is ruined because there is no way to unstick it, not these. They absorb a pretty good amount of fluid, I have a large venus ulcer on my lower calf and it produces a high amount of fluid so it is challenging to keep it semi dry and not leaking all over my pants. I actually use another product in addition to these, they are called Dynarex Curafoam foam dressing and I use a size that is slightly smaller than the wound and then a slightly larger size of Mepilex border dressing on top of that. I find that really absorbs the fluid and exudate from the ulcer and helps keep the bacterial biofilm in check. It saves from having to debride the wound as often. The biggest drawback with these is the price. They are very pricey but honestly they are the best I have found and I've used many, many different types of wound care products.

It is easy to take off the bandage before I shower and then put it back over my wound without pulling or hurting my skin
It is easy to take off the bandage before I shower and then put it back over my wound without pulling or hurting my skin after my shower. It sticks well. It felt sticky initially and I was afraid that it would pull off loose skin over a blister, but i was pleasantly surprised at the easy removal and re-application without pulling off any skin. An excellent technology for a multi day bandage. The only negative is its high price, but the quality is excellent.I plan to buy again!

Excellent Product!
I don't know of any bandage/dressing that work as well as these. They stay in place but do not stick to open wounds. Expensive yes but worth it. Also hard to find and the one local place that did have them was almost twice the cost.
