Midwest Products Co. Balsa Wood Sheet 36"-1/16"X3" 20 Per Pack

The product its self is exactly what i wanted but i had to pay an additional £12.34 customs tax

I ordered two of these packs...meaning I ordered 40 pieces of 36"-1/16"x3" for a very large project. FORTY PIECES...4-0 PIECES. The boxes just came and they looked very thin. Assuming that you are ordering a pack of twenty, the box should be 1.25" high AT LEAST. Both boxes looked like they contained one piece; the boxes were also extremely bent and looked like they had been walked on! So I opened them carefully, and sure enough, both boxes had just ONE PIECE in them, and they were BROKEN TO SHREDS. I am NOT paying over $50 for TWO BROKEN PIECES OF BALSA WOOD.If I wanted just two pieces, I would have just gone to the craft store and got them for just over $1/piece, duh. Someone dropped the ball, whether Amazon's warehouse or the supplier, and I am EXTREMELY UNHAPPY. Not to mention that it's raining today, if I hadn't been home and left them outside all afternoon, the pieces (regardless of how many I bought) would have been ruined! They were just resting in thin, corrugated boxes, and were NOT labeled as "fragile", which probably would have alleviated the "walked on" issue I had with the packaging. Balsa wood is fragile, and I should have known better than to order this stuff offline.

The quality of the wood is good. Exactly what I wanted to make models. The shipping was delayed somehow. After communication they decided to refund my shipping fee. Satisfied.

As I expected 2 or 3 sheets were warped so they will be cut up for short pieces and bracing. The remainder were straight, very usable, and ranged in weight from very light to very dense. Excellent balsa choices for modelers building rubber powered models as I do.

Great, but expensive (although, probably not relatively speaking).
