My new favorite EDC light
This is my second ThruNite. I bought the TC12 to replace the TN12 that I misplaced a few months ago.I love the fact that the TC12 is rechargeable without having to remove the battery, no more carrying around a spare dead battery. I'm not sure how long it takes to fully charge when the battery is dead because I usually charge it from time to time while I'm driving or working at my desk. It has a rubber flap that covers the charge port to keep out dirt and water. The rubber flap is part of a band that slips over the flashlight and can be easily replaced when the flap breaks off, which we all know will happen at some point. The light can tail stand and be used as a candle to light up the room. That is a well thought out design. Other flashlights I've owned fall over when you try to stand them on their end. It also remembers the last light setting you had so you don't have to cycle through to get to that setting every time you turn the light back on. The light gets warm to the touch at the 1100 lumens setting but not too hot that you can't handle it. Besides, I don't use that setting often or for an extended period when I do.At 5.5 inches, it fits perfectly into my front pocket. It has a removable pocket clip that grips well. The light is waterproof, sturdy, and well constructed. It's lightweight but feels strong and solid in hand. I've dropped it a few times already, and the light never flickers. The aluminum body can take a beating. As great as this light is, it's not entirely perfect. It's only like a 9.7 out of 10. There are a few things I would like to see changed.First of all, the side action button is HARD to feel out or find in the dark when you need to change brightness levels or activate the blinding strobe light. The side action button on my previous TN12 was raised and very easy to find. The TC12's button is smooth and flush with the frame and difficult to find without looking at the flashlight to locate the side button. This is not a good thing to be doing when walking a narrow trail or through unfamiliar terrain in the dark because you have to take your eyes off your path and look for the blue dot on the side action button.Another negative thing for me is that the blue dot doesn't appear in the lowest light setting, which is the setting I use most when navigating around the house at night. The light shows up at the higher settings but not the lowest. Again, this makes it difficult to change to a brighter setting when it's dark, and you need to see.I wish this had a USB C charge port. It's not a deal-breaker at all, but it would be one less cord I need to carry.Overall, I'm thrilled to have a ThruNite in my pocket again. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and will continue to buy ThruNite flashlights. I also purchased the ThruNite T1, which is another excellent flashlight when I got this light. I'll be reviewing that one soon.

Best bang for the buck
You simply can not go wrong wth this, ever. I have owned 4 or 5. They are the best bang for your buck light, you can possibly buy in my opinion. For the money you simply can not do better. However, there is one flaw with this light, that I have expierenced on all of them but one. That is, if you drop them onto concrete from 4 feet and above, it will kill them. The reason they can not take this type of drop, is because of a weak solder point. I have killed all but 1 of mine, and all of them failed in the same exact way. One of the soldiers, that connects a circuit for the battery/circuit board, breaks. You can fix them. I fixed all mine at least once. A couple of them I fixed twice. It's kind of hard to do, but you can do it. Even after fixing them though, they still can't take the 4ft drop on concrete. They will keep breaking. It's just the design. But honestly, do NOT let that discourage you. The average person will not break these. I am an auto tech, so I drop them on concrete very often. In my opinion, if you work on concrete or know you will drop this on something very hard from 4ft and above, just get a fenix pd35/pd36. Those are slightly more money, but can take the drop quite a bit better in my expierence. I have two of those and have not killed them yet, even dropping them over 6ft on concrete. But, if you know you won't drop it like I do, definetly get this. You will not regret it. For the price, it is just incredible.EDIT on 9-20-21... After leaving the above review, the light I had, that had not died from being dropped yet, did in fact die, after dropping it from about 5 feet on concrete. I took it apart like always and re-soldered the typical bad battery-circuit board connection. This time I added alot of extra solder to it. And I have been using it, repaired, for the last year, and it’s just an absolute beast. With the extra solder, it hasn’t died even after dropping it over 5-6 feet many many times, and accidentally throwing it across the shop at times. The extra extra solder seems to have made the thing extremely reliable, and surely above fenix reliability. Just in case anybody cares, or likes to tinker/mod/repair things. Also I see alot of other reviews about having trouble charging. I have never tried charging any of them with the supplied cord/port. I bought an actual 18650 dedicated wall charger. I would highly recommend doing it that way, and buy one or two extra 18650 batteries. When one goes dead, you simply walk over and exchange batteries on the wall charger. It’s faster. Easier. Makes the batteries last forever, you never need to wait to charge, etc.Lastly, some people say the their light flickers, and they have trouble turning it on, etc... The trick to these is to make sure both the end cap, and battery tube are extremely tight. As tight as you can get it. These lights come apart in 2 main sections. The end cap, and then right behind the side button, there are threads, where the battery tube threads onto the side button/headlight section. That part needs to be very tight. If it gets loose, it causes the light to flicker. Easy fix.

Durable and reliable
I have been carrying this flashlight at work in the included holster for about a month now. So far it has suffered a ten foot drop onto concrete, brief submersion in a chloric acid solution, and full submersion in a bucket of oil and coolant. This thing has handled it like a champ. The metal rim around the lens was bent from the drop but it did not damage the lens or the black coating. It takes a little while to learn how to use it, but changing the brightness is fast and simple. Charging the battery took some getting used to. You need to turn the flashlight on before plugging it in, and the led changes color to let you know it's charging. I'm very impressed with the battery life. I usually charge it every other day, but it has no problem getting through the work week on a single charge.I have a couple other thrunite flashlights and each one fulfills its purpose excellently, this one is no exception.

Unreliable and surprisingly not that bright.
I use a torch for work, so I thought it was worth investing a little more money when I needed to replace my cheap torch that I had had for the previous two years. This torch had good reviews here and on YouTube and had the features I wanted, so I went ahead with the purchase. On receiving the torch, I was a little disappointed to find it was less bright than my previous torch, which cost less that £10, but I thought at least it has other features that I wanted, such as USB charging and a separate mode and on/off switch. After only a few days of ownership, the torch kept going off just after switching on or just not switching on at all. It would come back on after cycling through the modes or giving it a quick shake or switching off and on again and I thought maybe it's because I'm using a different battery to the one that came with it. I know 18650 batteries vary in size slightly and thought maybe the battery I was using was slightly shorter and not making a good connection. Well it was slightly shorter, but even when I switched back to the battery that came with the torch, I experienced exactly the same issues. The torch hadn't been dropped or even knocked and had no obvious reason to be having what appeared to be a poor connection. I realise my experience with this torch is not the norm and I have probably been unfortunate to get a bad one, but I can only review based on what I received.

This started off ok...
Great when it works, but difficult to get it to charge and the instructions are wrong. Sometimes it flickers and goes off when in use. It is undoubtably rugged, but it appears to have been let down by poor electronics inside. One of my kids was going on a School camp and although I initially thought I didn’t want to send her away with an expensive torch to lose, I soon realised I actually didn’t trust the torch not to let her down in the middle of the night. I ordered a cheaper torch for less than half the price, just as rugged, brighter, better features, so far more reliable (so far). Shop around, these (this model at least) is not worth the money. I’m not a Thrunite hater, I have their head torch which has been excellent and very reliable. I also have a tiny key ring sized thrunite, also excellent.

I ran it over with a tractor...
Oh wow! I bought this torch off off amazon in the summer, and being the summer, didn't use it much. As winter came in, this torch has been my absolute life, i use it every day. The battery life of this torch is amazing, and USB charging is also amazing!! I rarely have to charge it and mostly use it on high and turbo modes! On turbo, and sometimes on high, the head of the torch around the heat spreading rings get quite warm, but i have not found this to be a problem so far.Accidentally, I left it on the back of a tractor and drove away. The torch rolled off, unfortunately and got ran over several times. I thought that the torch was totally done for, but when i picked it up, it worked fine. I got it back in and washed it off, got the grit out of it, the mode changer works smoothly, as does the rest of the torch. The only part that is even slightly bent is the head, around the reflector. This unscrews, and still unscrews with only a few catches, as it is slightly squashed.I am so pleased with this torch, and also bought a ti4 a while back, which was also an outstanding little pen light.Unfortunately my torch did get a bit dented after being ran over, but its an awesome little torch, I love it!!!

needs a reboot
I bought this little gem for GBP 53 thinking it had to be good because you pay for the quality. Well, the exterior is stable enough, unfortunately the same cannot be said for the interior. The torch kept switching itself off just after I switced it on, so after various attempts of recharging (with the purple light flashing more often than not) I discovered that a reboot seems to do the trick: remove the battery completely and give it a minute or so. Let there be light!

Good solid little torch with fantastic specs
This little torch is awesome. The beam throw is great and the buttons all work with a good positive click. It arrived earlier than expected and was already at 80% charge out of the box. Very good grip and fits well in my pocket. I keep it in my car glove box for emergencies.
