New to “fly” fishing.
I wanted a super lightweight setup that I could carry while hiking. I also wanted a setup that didn’t require bait. So I can fish if the mood strikes or I happen upon a good spot. My first love is hiking, but I really enjoy fishing too. I’ve only practiced in the yard. I didn’t really like the line that came with this rod. The plastic retained its “memory” from the wind up thingy and didn’t “float” smoothly. So I bought a new line that is fabric or cord. I’m sure there are names for these things but I don’t yet have the lingo down. Lol. Since changing to the cord I have been able to whip it good. This pole is only 10 ft which is good for me as a beginner. I imagine using this in smaller streams with a lot of overgrowth.Best part about this purchase is that it’s a man and his family putting these rods together, here in the USA. His personal message with the rod was the best!

Great customer service
Broken rods are inevitable given the nature of the Tankara design. When I broke a section they had a replacement out to me the next day. These folks stand by their product.
