Pleasantly surprised
I was looking for a pair of headphones that were a little more "fun" than my HD560S, HE400SE, HD650. If you want a boring reference set of cans, you shouldn't get these. But if you enjoy music and want an extremely fun and comfortable set of headphones that are very versatile, look no further.I absolutely love the wood finish, and it has a nice clear coat over the top of it. The pads are phenomenal and feels almost like you don't even have headphones on. Sound-wise, they have a nice V-shape. Sub-bass and mid-bass is great. Mids are SLIGHTLY recessed, and treble is bright. Sometimes a tad bit too bright, but never sibilant (for me). I think these are PERFECT for anyone who enjoys Jazz, hip hop, edm, lo-fi, etc. I can even listen to post hardcore and metal on these. I watch movies and game with them, as well.I can't think of any complaints other than small ones like the cord can be microphonic and they can get a little warm on the ears if you wear for an extremely long amount of time. These get a solid 4.8/5 for me. Perfect for every day use and not breaking the bank.

Absolutely superior sound, amazing quality, comfort, nothing to hate.
So I have been searching for the longest time to find a pair of premium headphones that fit my style of preferred sound, this it it! Reviews were good and these look so nice that I decided to try them, these do not disappoint.Build: These headphones are built extremely well. They have no visible plastic on them, not to light or heavy, and the wood earcups are beautiful. The cups scratch easily due to the high gloss clear coat and the fact that these are polished to a mirror shine. I recommend holding these by the headband and NOT cleaning the cups as they will scratch no matter how careful you are. They feel like tanks and I have never seen such a well made cable before. Using real metal with a spring at the base of the plug to reduce bending, you can clearly tell Sivga did not cut corners!Comfort: These are by far the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned. The headband and ear cushions are made from protein leather, a man made synthetic material. These are so soft it is like a marshmallow giving you a soft hug. The pads are super thick and very compactable, this means they conform to your ears quite well. These headphones do not fit a tiny head, I would say they would fit a normal sized head nicely. I had to put a rolled up cloth in between my head and the band. For reference my hat size is 6 3/4, maybe 6 7/8 when my hair is grown out. I am not sure how well this synthetic leather will hold up, they do not feel like garbage though. I will most likely use these for my workouts as they do not fly off your head when moving a lot.Sound Quality: These headphones are not in any way flat or analytical sounding. I noticed some saying the mid bass is too overwhelming and that it is too much. I find this not to be the case. I have looked for a long time to find a headset that packs a deep, smooth full, rich, undistorted bass that will not overpower anything else, this is it! This headset packs a superb bass, it is in no way dirty or muddy. The bass is big, warm, bold, and very much in your face. These also pack an astonishing amount of clarity. They are so detailed and perfect in the mids and highs as well. I can't believe this set has such a thunderous bass, yet such perfect treble. The headphones have highs that are present and very audible, but not overly sharp. The drivers can handle so much vibration without buzzing or rattling, this is exactly what I have been looking for. The style of sound is warm, big, bold, balanced, clear, with the perfect amount of warmth. The 50mm speakers contribute a lot, plus the wood really helps the sound resonate beautifully. They sound so good with even the factory cable. I thought they couldn't be better, until I tried the the 4.4mm balanced cable. Yes, it got better still. When using the 4.4mm plug with an amp that has balanced circuitry there is a noticeable difference in the sound. The sound stage is wider, imaging is clearer, details are separated, and they are brought out more. This headset already is great in these aspects even using the normal 3.5mm unbalanced connection. Mind you these do have a stronger upper mid bass, yet not overpowering to my ears. If this is something you want to tweak, equalize them.Comparisons/value: I have compared this pair of Sivga Robins to other headphones and used it with various equipment. These are amazing across the board. I have used other sets like Sony MDR-V6, and Meze 99 Classics. The Meze headphones came the closest to these, yet did not match up in my opinion. My Meze 99s are also wooden enclosed headphones and award winning. This being said, they are no slouch themselves. They have the same level of clarity and detail, but the Sivga Robins have a bigger and more in your face sound. The Meze 99s are very clearly quieter. They also are not as comfortable and do not stay on the head as the Sivga headphones. Mind you the Sivga Robins cost $150 and Meze 99 Classics are $300 and awarded. The Sivgas sound better to me despite being half the price and having no awards. As for my Sony headphones, not even close to either. I used the Sivga Robin headphones with my IFI Hip Dac 3 connected to my Samsung Galaxy S20 5g playing MQA songs from Tidal music. I believe these headphones are some of the best priced on the market right now.Final thoughts: I do not know what $1000 plus headphones sound like as I have not heard any. I doubt anything would be better than this although, I may be wrong. When people say something is better or worse it can be very subjective to taste. It also can depend on the other sound equipment you use with it. I base my opinion of the Sivga Robin headphones on the price point, build quality, comfort, level of detail/clarity, ability to display sound properly, and what all of that should be at said price point. The Meze 99 Classics are double the price, yet not even matching anything more then general sound like clarity, detail, and build. These Sivga headphones have a style to their sound that is just different, not necessarily better or worse. So my advice is get a headset that has the sound signature you are looking for and know this before you buy the product. Things like looking at as many reviews as possible help a lot. I am providing my unbiased review not based on personal taste, just the bare facts. If you want everything I described these headphones as, these are a superb choice.

Objectively good headphones at a good price; Some caveats
I think these headphones are objectively great. If you are upgrading from cheap airplane earphones, you will definitely notice details in your music that you've never noticed before.Pros:-Great bass and nice clarity overall. Nice soundstage.-quality construction with a nice blend of metal, wood, and leatherette.-Great design: the cables never get in the way and it's great to be able to disconnect them completely from the headphones.-super plush and comfy earpads.-The cable is really high quality and likely won't break if you're being rough with them.Cons:-Difficult to listen to without adjusting the EQ on my computer. For some reason, audio just sounds...flat sometimes without the EQ. When I turn up the volume, I can start noticing details in the music, but at low volumes, these headphones seem inadequate unless I adjust the EQ. Their impedance isn't high, so driving them should be easy on both desktops and laptops...-Poor passive isolation: Some reviewers mentioned that these have great noise isolation; I have experienced the opposite. It could be that I am not getting a proper seal with these headphones since I do have sideburns and also wear glasses. Therefore, the earpads do have to go over the sides of my glasses and over hair. When I try to wear these at my workplace, they offer virtually no noise isolation when music is not playing. Not even a little - I can hear conversations with more or less perfect clarity when people are standing 10 feet away from me. Additionally, I can hear music leaking from the headphones when I put the cups together, suggesting that maybe the soft, less dense leather is somehow allowing noise to pass through. With music playing, it effectively blocks out surrounding sounds (even if you're playing at low volumes).-These can get pretty hot around the ears if you wear them for a while. Maybe not uncomfortable, but definitely noticeable.-These headphones are made for people with large heads. I don't consider myself to have an abnormally small head, but I am at the lowest setting on the headband adjustment and I still think they go too far down my head (to the top of my jaw, which is somewhat uncomfortable). Maybe if they had a bit more material at the top of the headband, it could accommodate people of "normal" to small head sizes better.-They ear pads don't swivel laterally. I don't really care that they don't but I know some people like that feature.I really do think these are high quality headphones. If your head is the right size, you don't care too much about passive noise isolation, and you need a quality set of headphones in the lower range of "pricey" headphones, then these might be for you. They look great, are fairly portable, and look like they're built to last, construction-wise.However, I will be returning them since they aren't right for me for what I am looking for.
