Our two year old electric steamer died. It was a pain to clean, and we keep reading how plastic is terrible for our health, and heated plastic is even worse. We thought we would give this a try.You place this over a large pot and boil the water. It cooks faster. I cannot prove it, but I think the food tastes better, and it is much easier to clean. It is made of bamboo. That does have a smell and a taste (think chopsticks), but it is not bad, and I am sure it is better for us than plastic. It is nicely made.No matter what we are told by the plastic industry, you really cannot clean plastic thoroughly as it is soft and scratches, which gathers bacteria. Yes, this natural bamboo device does not have its own heater, or a almost unreadable lit LCD screen to set a timer, nor does it beep at you if your water is low or just to irritate you. You cannot submerge the electronic base to clean it either. No, I much prefer this over the electronic steamers. There is something to be said for the natural look and feel of bamboo.

What to buy for the guy who has everything? THIS! He was really excited to get this and the accompanying accessories. He literally loves to cook healthier and this fits the bill. Highly recommend.

I had one of these baskets before and I’ll love it! I recently had a house fire and I’m trying to slowly retain everything that I own previously and this was one of my favorite products ever. It’s so versatile you can use it on so many things vegetables meat you can use it on potstickers and dumplings. I use it to steam tamales, I just absolutely love it. It’s such a wonderful way to get to eat healthier!

Very nice steamer. I have used it to cook frozen white castle hamburgers. Next best thing to buying them fresh.I've had this kind of steamer before and had to finally replace because the ring bands started coming loose. Haven't had these long but by judging from previous one, these seem pretty well made. Easy to use, easy to clean, I just line with foil and it steams just as well and no mess. I also steamed frozen tamales and they come out well too. Love my bamboo steamers.

I got this for my son, and he loves it ! Comes with so many tools and reusable mats so nothing sticks to we love it!

It’s a bamboo steamer basket with 2 tiers and lid with extras, but I think it’s just as good quality as more expensive brands. It is rather shallower than my last one, but still does the job. I can still purchase more 10” baskets later.

I absolutely love this product. It makes perfect steamed foods.
