The toe box should be larger so I recommend buying a half to a whole size larger. In snow and ice I wore Yaktraxx on my other boots but found they were not necessary with these boots. The rugged soles provide all the traction necessary on ice and snow. My #100 dog pulls hard on the leash when we are out walking and he sees a deer but I am able to maintain my position and hold him in ice and snow in these boots without wearing ice cleats. Now if only I could get deer to wear Hoover vacuum costumes everything would be great!

I ordered the 8xw because that's what my much-beloved but no longer sold original Blizzard boots were. There are true to width but the instep is so tight I could not zip one of them. Had to return them and get the Lumi. I frankly think the one boot was defective...probably the leather was cut a little off because there seemed to be a dip that the other boot in the pair didn't have. The other boot was snug in the instep but it zipped.

I have very hard to fit feet. The balls of my feet are wide, but the arches and heels are narrow. Also I have gaps between my toes, and shoes that crunch my toes together are very painful.I usually have to go up several sizes to find something that's wide enough in the ball, and then it's way too loose in the heel.This boot fits very nicely. It's wide enough in the ball. It's loose in the heel, but the rest of the boot is shaped so that it does not wobble or come off. It's also very warm.The only downside is that the boots are very rigid, and it's easier on my knees when boots are soft and flexible.

If you're layering up socks the extra is a good thing, but I ordered true to size and am glad I didn't size up as a lot of reviews had recommended. I like the ruggedness of them. I need them for snow and icy conditions and look forward to not needing to use crampons. The zipper is a tad stiff but as another reviewer mentioned a dab of vaseline fixes that perfectly.

I have a high arch and a wide width foot. It's hard to find shoes that cover the top of my foot and don't pinch. Most boots I can't pull on. The zipper makes these work for me. Keeps my feet dry and warm in the rainy weather. Slips on and off without a wrestling match that other boots cause. I would buy this again. Gave it four stars since I wish the liner could be taken out to wash.

I wear a 6E and have a tough time finding boots that fit. These are PLENTY wide, but I think they run big. Will be great with a pair of very thick socks. I was comfortable driving while wearing them, and good traction walking on an icy sidewalk. Not quite as warm as I'd hoped, but on the whole great boots for the price.

I have wide feet, and I always have problems finding footwear that fits. I bought size 7 EE, and I could have gotten away with E, but I wear heavy socks in these, and they fit great. The depth and width of the toe box is wonderful. The only thing I'm a little worried about is the zippers. I haven't had any problem with them yet, but they seem a little on the light side. I hope they hold up. These are some of the best boots I've ever owned. They're completely waterproof.

Stylish appearance, great traction and the teal & gray color & pattern liven up a snowy day. Not typical hum-drum style.As I have wide feet could not take either a larger or smaller size so I guess I'd call them "just right". But did add "cookie" arch supports to give me a little added lift in the arch. Warm and so far, water & slush proof.

Bought these to take out the garbage and go to the mailbox. I wanted to be able to slip my feet into them with heavy socks on so bought a size larger than I wear. They work really well for me and were a good price.

Used them yesterday in snow they gripped really well. Snow then had freezing rain on top didn't grip too well but I don't think any boot would have. I have a wide foot and these boots are so comfortable, they don't pinch at all. So pleased with my purchase!

Great boots to keep my feet warm and dry. I have arthritis in my feet and it is very important to keep them warm and have enough room to feel comfortable.
