Ok first off do not expect a gen 2 or gen 3 night vision quality scope. But you can see at night fairly well up to around 75 yards in total darkness with the IR illuminator. The camera is set to very very high gain at night also the lux rating must be around .001 so it takes very little light to get an image. There is a mountain behind my house, a part of it is around a half mile away the rest about a mile. At night in pitch black when my Galaxy note 4 and my eyes cannot see anything at all I can still get a dark but discernible image of the mountain side at half a mile I can see bushes and roads which is amazing when you consider there is no light amplification in this unit it just is a very sensitive CCD with a huge 60 mm light gathering lens the illuminator does not work at this distance so it must be ambient light from the city was overcast no moon that time. At a mile I can just see a dark mountainside with no definition like bushes and roads etc. The image of the LCD screen is 4 out of 5 stars. The video is good the pictures are very good. For the price vs what your are getting this is a great deal and yes you can see many more stars with this scope almost as good as an image intensifier almost. There is another digital scope I liked with even more features than this one the Bestguarder 6x50mm it has 6x built in magnification plus 5x digital zoom and a 5 Megapixel CCD it has better resolution for video and pics but it has only a 50mm lens vs 60mm for this unit thats why I got this unit to me the important thing is to gather more light with the bigger lens since remember there is no light amplification so the choice is yours but htis unit is great for the price and performance. VERY IMPORTANT READ I almost forgot this is my first digital scope and there is one thing I did not like about it and it was that if you try and point the scope straight up it shuts off!! and so you have to switch it back on. This might be safety feature to keep you from getting dizzy and falling off a cliff etc but I do not like this feature NOTE TO THE MANUFACTURER! If a UFO is right over head this thing will shut off NOT GOOD!! THIS IS WHY I GAVE IT ONLY 4 STARS IT COULD HAVE GOTTEN FIVE. For the price still a good deal though. Also do not forget to insert the sd card or it will not turn on.

I purchased Rangland night vision goggles twice but both goggles stopped working after a very short time in less than 30 minutes .the quality is good and the housing is made out of rough material And great optic lenses. Therefore makes the night observation easier,specially for those who are interested in the sky gazing for the stars or even satellites.it may surprise you when it works properly!

I purchased this item February 2018 for hog hunting. Worked great out of the box and was impressed at first with unit at this cost.I took it into the field and almost immediately started having a problem. It was pitch black out and eyepiece would switch back and forth from very a bright to fuzzy view. I thought it was the batteries. Couple weeks later, charged batteries and brought an external battery. Worked great for a couple minutes then right back to not working properly again. I thought, maybe it’s that cheap and that’s what it does. Tried one more time just a week or so ago and was even worse. Contacted Seller who suggested new batteries. I did that and was again even worse. Seller suggested that I send it to him for repairs. When I found that they were in CHINA, I found myself with nothing but garbage. Federal law prohibits night vision from being sent OUT of the country. It can be sent in though.Spend the extra money for a quality product. No wonder it’s not available any longer.

Quit working after 6 months. Twice attempted contact with the vendor with no resolution. After last contact with them, there was never a response. Do not waste your money on this product, or any other product from the vendor.

It wasn't what I expected. The with is way too narrow when looking through the lense.I thought it was x60 wide. It is hard visualizing things.However even though I probebly won't use it,I like the idea of taking a video in the night IR mode.

Returned it immediately.
