This Lazartigue Color & Radiance Protection Mask with Camellia Oil is a white mask with a light, pleasant scent. I have fine hair that lacks body, except it gets some frizz at the thinner ends especially, so I blow dry my hair to smooth it and get some shape and style into it. I get my hair colored dark brown with permanent dye about every four weeks. My hair gets dry and damages easily, so I condition after every wash and also use a hair mask about 1x a week. I’ve used this Lazartigue mask the last two weeks for 5 minutes (or a little more) at a time. My hair has been manageable and easy to style after. It looks and feels healthy and well conditioned, and I can get good shape when blowing out my hair. This mask makes my hair feel soft, but it doesn’t get so overly soft as to go flat or not hold a style. When dry, my hair looks super shiny and hasn’t had any color fading. Instead, my color has looked fresh and vibrant even down to the ends. I just had my regular appointment to get my roots touched up and color pulled through, but my hairdresser only did my roots as she said my color still looked so fresh, even and shiny down to my ends. She even asked if I was using something different. Even though she did the roots only, my hair looks like I had it all dyed as the color is rich and is still just as dark at the ends. I can’t say my color looks great only due to this mask as I do use other high end color care products, but my hair color has looked especially good and this mask definitely doesn’t fade my color. A couple of months ago I had my long, dark brown hair bleached and dyed green. Like most of the 'fantasy' colors, they are semi-perm and have to be redone every month or so since they wash out. I minimize washing and use made for colored hair shampoo and conditioner to help maintain my color. Because my hair had to be bleached first, it left it feeling less than nice. It feels rough and coarse and absolutely requires conditioner after washing. I was intrigued by this product. A mask to help condition my hair while protecting the color. Most hair masks I've seen aren't particularly friendly to my type of hair color. This mask I applied in the shower after washing my hair as directed. I worked it through from scalp to ends and piled it on top of my head for a 5 minute wait. I just took a leisurely rest of my shower for that time. After rinsing, my hair felt nice and smooth, pretty much like it usually does after I've used conditioner. One thing I noticed though. My hair was much easier to comb through. After shampooing and conditioning, my hair is usually a rats nest of tangles. I didn't seem to have nearly as many tangles and what I did have, combed through very easily with minimal hair loss. I did lose some color, but it wasn't the mask. It was from the shampooing prior. I always see some of my gorgeous emerald color go down the drain. However, when I had to wash my hair earlier than usual 2 days after, there was very little color loss when I shampoo compared to what I usually see. I wasn't expecting this mask to work this well on semi-perm color as they're usually formulated to work on permanent hair color. It's a great deep conditioner for my bleach damaged hair, plus it reduces the amount of color loss when shampooing. Good stuff!

12.1.21~ Wanted to test the color protection for a few weeks before sharing. Figured at 50 bucks, color retention is what would separate this from a $20 tub. Almost 3 weeks later, my color is still true. My Hair Details~ My hair was colored red. Naturally a red base, sandy brown with grey. Had it professionally colored level 8 blonde, 8 weeks ago. To get the red, and bits of Feria Fushia out, had to be bleached/stripped out. 3 weeks ago used 'Lazartigue' level 8 blonde to cover grey roots & lifted ends. Consistently used this color mask 1-2x's @week. My root grey is starting to come in but the blonde is still true to Day 1. The lifted ends did come through a bit but for the most color is holding uniform. Can't blame a mask, or the color kit, for porous hair. If I regularly spent $100+ on salon color, Absolutely would Holy Grail this mask. As I am an At Home Colorist for 30 years, probably use this in rotation. But right now my hair is in a total overhaul & needs all the help it can get. The 'Lazartique' mask-maintained color on porous hair. Has minimal shed when rinsing from wet hair. It's my hair's best chance to hold & keep color right now.

I begin with Lazartigue shampoo. This provides a nice canvas for the mask. I then follow with the color protection conditioner from Lazartigue. This, too, sets hair up for success. Then, I scoop up a handful of this and really work it in from end to roots. I stack this on my head and continue with my shower routine. When I am completely done, I rinse this. As I am rinsing, I can feel how smooth it has made my hair. And, it rinses cleanly and easily. Now, I do have to take my time combing out my hair (which is very long). So, while this doesn't seem to have a detangling feature, it also leaves my hair well hydrated and my color as brilliant as ever. This is a really nice mask (especially when used in conjunction with the rest of the Lazartigue line). Recommended!
