Cool ReliefIce Wrap 11”x12” Blue Cooling Hip Pack

Had a PAO surgery on my left hip. This ice pack has been my life saver. Would highly recommend for any hip surgeries!

This is one of the few ice pack contraptions that works well and is also comfortable. There is not too much fabric between the ice and you so you actually get a lot of the cold, but there is enough to make sure you don't ice burn your skin.It is a little bit of a pain to get on at first, but once you figure it out it's fine. It is a terrific pack - last night I woke up in the middle of the night in pain, put it on and fell asleep with it on (yes, I know, you're not supposed to do that - but it helped me sleep).I have two for my shoulders, which provide good compression, but they have too much fabric/neoprene between the ice and my shoulders. This does not suffer from that flaw.I highly recommend it and am glad I bought it. I have constant bursitis pain in my hips and it is great to be able to walk around or sit while icing and not have a pack slip.

This product works great once I figured it out. Not five stars just because I almost returned this when I couldn't immediatedly figure out the leg strap. I thought the strap for the leg was sewn in place at both ends because the velcro is strong and seamless. This left me trying to wrestle my leg uncomfortably into the narrow looped strap. I was wondering how many skinny children had use for a hip ice wrap! I pulled up the photo on Amazon and it wasn't very helpful to show how the leg strap worked. Once I realized the strap came completely off of the ice wrap and opened to be easily wrapped around the leg before attaching at each end to the ice wrap I was happy with my purchase. It stays really cold for a much longer time than the regular ice I had previously tried. I will be using this to help me sleep until my hip replacement which has to be scheduled two months away. While I don't anticipate using it while walking around, one could easily do so as the straps are wide, strong and secure. I definately recommend this product.

We’re easy to use fit good and helps my hip

I got an appointment with my Orthopedic doctor but it wasn't for two weeks so I found this device at Amazon and it worked great in reducing the swelling and the pain in my right hip. The first one ordered had the waist strap break the 2nd time I used it but Amazon replaced it the next day and I took the broken one back to Kohl's for an easy return. This Monday I see my doctor but this device saved me a lot of pain and discomfort.

Though I struggled to get the placement exactly right the first couple of times, this is a great ice pack for anyone with hip pain. I had surgery to repair a labral tear in my hip over the holidays. After eyeing this wrap for months, I finally bought it and am so glad I did. It stays in place, allowing me to move around in bed without sliding off and I can even walk around with it if I need to. It even stayed up when I was on crutches. I was disappointed with the fit at first, but once I figured out the placement of the upper strap (it completely comes off, unlike the bottom strap, which is anchored to the wrap on one side.The gel pack DEFINITELY stays cold. I accidentally fell asleep with it on and gave myself frostbite... so make sure you don't keep it on longer than 20 minutes (you aren't supposed to anyway), or if you do, that you have an extra layer of protection on.If you have hip pain like bursitis or an inflamed IT band, or had surgery like me, don't hesitate to buy this. Even with the steep price, it's a better investment than the gel packs you can buy at the pharmacy, and even if you are unable to use the gel pack it came with (whether you lose it, forget to freeze it, or it ruptures), I've had success using the wrap with ice cubes in a ziplock.

This item was nice and cold and not difficult to strap on. The adjustable waist strap made it fit well to me (35" hips). The end part of the strap did tear from pulling it tight, but I sewed it back on the sewing machine and it has held ever since. I walk around and sit with it on.

I recently had a hip replacement wherein the leg muscles are held aside during the operation to access the bone which results in subsequent swelling. This swelling makes the hip/leg heavier, more painful, & impacts on mobility. Therefore, post-op icing of such a large area is very important. The Cool Relief Ice Wrap 11"x12" Hip Pak provided great coverage & kept it applied to the area. I bought 2 in order to alternate when I needed a fresh ice pack & am so glad that I did.

Does not keep cold very long, think the ice packs should be thicker to last longer!

Very good product highly recommend

I misplaced my previous ice wrap from this company. I had no problems with it and it fit very well. I used it during my golf games for one year. So I thought it was a good idea to order another one. However, this one (for my other hip) is very ill-fitting. Lower strap is far too short and chokes off my circulation to my groin area. The actual bag is too short and does not cover the total area near the waist and down the leg. I have no idea why this one fits so differently. Totally frustrating and insufficient. As it is, it is unusable for me.
