First, it IS beautiful! If you like the photos you'll like the item because the photos are accurate!Next, it is solidly constructed and not at all flimsy.It is light in weight.The feet are more widely spaced than most metal ones so it has greater lateral stability.I wear rubber soled shoes, rather than leather, and my foot doesn't slip at all.The angle of the foot support is good allowing for anatomical comfort.It doesn't show in all of the photos but there are textured, non-slip pads on each contact point with the floor. They prevent slipping, protect the stool and protect the floor as well. You won't scratch up wood or tile flooring.It always seemed incongruous to me to play a guitar made of beautiful wood with a beautiful finish while using an "ugly" black and metal footstool. This one functions perfectly, looks good, complements the guitar and makes you feel good while playing!

Sure it is beautiful , but cheaply put together with low quality materials. If you play as much as I do , yours will fall apart and break soon too. Mine lasted about two months before crumbling . This is not a very sturdy footstool .You are better off buying a niceand reliable steel one for $9.95. "Amazon's Choice" It will last forever.

This guitar footrest is definitely attractive but that is about it. My foot feels very unsteady on it. It is very weak and wobbly. In fact, the first wooden position stop, as I will call it, snapped right off after only a few days of use and the whole unit collapsed. It is still usable but only in three out of the four positions, until another one inevitably snaps off. I will eventually through it out. There are much sturdier and better constructed foot rests out there. I don't like practicing with damaged products. In fairness, it does look nice.

I used it for several months but then it twisted and the metal rod came out of wood which cracked and then collapsed. Still usable but can't put much weight on it. I would recommend it as a decor piece which doesn't get used often.

I am a banjo player studying the classical repertoire. Since there is no audience for this I find myself playing to an audience of two (though my wife does turn up the television). I saw classical guitar players using these little stools and thought if helps them it should help me, and it did. It is not only very attractive but folds flat and provides excellent support for the banjo which, I humbly point out, is a lot heavier than an effete guitar. It is pretty and very well made. You may have gone wrong when you took up the banjo but you won't go wrong with ths foot stool.

You don't have to be a classical guitarist to find a foot stool useful and comfortable, but there's a reason why classical players use them: it creates the ideal configuration for both the left and right hand. And these foot stools are as lovely to look at as they are practical and well-made.

This is a low quality wood stand, that broke within 2 hours of use. It looks nice, but that's about it.. The end notch, or lowest setting, was cut deeper than the rest, and it just snapped right off. When it did, it bent the metal cross pieces, so that was the end of that! I got a refund, no problem..
