Kingston 256GB KC600 mSATA Internal SSD (SKC600MS/256G)

Seller: "E Shopping Mantra" sold me 100% genuine product! Packing was very good and I got November-2019 (fresh) manufactured product. I would have given 1 less star for not mentioning the product's serial number on the invoice but after sending some emails to the seller, they were very quick to resolve it and resent me the invoice mentioning product's serial number within 1 day! This is a Kingston SKC600 (new model), its standard is equivalent to Samsung Evo 860 (quite costly). But Kingston always manages to bring quality SSDs with a suitable budget. It comes with 5 years of warranty which is a cherry on the cake! Its 3D NAND TLC technology with new SM2259 Controller brings better performance towards our experience! Please Note: If the motherboard has SATA-III Connector (6GB/sec) then it gives its best read/write speed. However, it still supports SATA-II (3GB/sec) but it will downgrade its actual speed. I am using it as only for Windows OS with other programmes and rest loads of media, etc. are on my 1TB HDD! And believe me, the boot time and overall speed of my Windows OS & other programmes are really 15x superior! And last but not the least, currently this Kingston SKC600/256G is only available with "E Shopping Mantra". So if you need it then go and buy it without any hesitation! Thank You!

I got the 256GB model cause my budget was limited, if possible I would recommend the 512GB model because price wise you get more value per GB, making the 256GB models a little pricey. Performance: Using it for my mom's laptop. It's, fast & the software provided by the company online is useful to monitor the performance of the SSD. Warranty: It comes with 5yr warranty which is recommended because I've had quality SD cards & pendrived fail before & even though an SSD like this is a different design altogether, it's still prone to unexpected failures. Benefits of SSDs are far more better when compared to the good old mechanical hard disk design, only flaw being the amount of times the data on a SSD can be rewritten. For gaming while an SSD will provide a better performance than a 7200rpm HDD, I would not get it, especially this one cause of the price, the A400 older model would be better suited for that cause if it did go bad atleast it's cheap. I also got a Transcend 256GB model SSD, performance wise both are working same for me. I did a clean install of win7 on both for two laptops these are in. Get whichever is cheaper, although the KC600 model was released recently. Another thing I found online while researching Kingston was that they tend to change the internal parts used in manufacturing their products sometime after the product release, without mentioning the changes done to the public. Apparently most of the times the changes are downgrades. Not sure if that's true lately, but hope this one lasts long enough. A harddisk caddy for the DVD drive is an useful upgrade, I'd use that for the a400 250gb model SSD & be done with it for gaming use,cheap too.

Worst Product ever. Waste of Money. Please do not buy. This SSD is not working and its defective, when I contacted the customer service, they took 4-5 days and said they cannot replace or refund the product and asked me to contact the brand for service. Even Brand do not respond. Just waste of Money.

It is a very good product for computer, it makes my computer run at many times faster speed. But only 238 GB storage was available. Still I am satisfied

ASSEMBLED IN PHILIPPINES PACKED IN CHINA. Very light and easy to install. I am using an old laptop of Samsung 2013 model; sata port will be enough for this SSD. NO UPGRADED SYSTEM IS REQUIRED for SSD installation. In Windows 7 it was showing 470 GB but in Ubuntu 18.04 I got above 500 GB. Easily partitionable like HDD. First experience, very fast booting. Programs are getting loaded very fast. Happy with the quick response of the system. 5 year limited warranty. BEFORE BUYING JUST MAKE SURE KINGSTON IS HAVING A SERVICE CENTRE FOR SSD NEAR YOUR LOCATION. I contact the service centre, and only after that I decided to go for Kingston KC 600.

So far So Good!! I am using this SSD on my Toshiba Satellite laptop with 4th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS installed. Now everything is superfast. Be it Startup, Shutdown or Reboot in just 4 seconds. Web Browsing, File open/close, compression or decompression of files, images or videos are now faster. Installation is also super easy. Icing on the cake is 5 years warrantee. Also cheaper than Samsung EVO 960, with same technology and same endurance. Loved the product so far. But Note: Have to check the performance after 1year of usage.

Having been in technical support for many years, I knew Kingston was a exceptional brand and my thoughts have been confirmed. Due to space issues on my C drive, this upgrade was greatly needed. Not having any free power ports on my system board, I used the CD drive and power cables to access the new drive. The cloning process was straight forward and pretty quick. There was one slight issue with partitioning of the C drive following the cloning to take advantage of all the new space but a Kingston tech support agent walked me through the resolution and it worked perfect. Kudos to an awesome product and awesome tech support staff!

I've been using this chip in my Lenovo Idea Pad Yoga for a few months now with no issues. It effectively quadrupled my computers memory and gave it new life. For anyone not aware, it's important to note that this is not a Plug and Play device. The installation requires that you use an appropriate app to transfer Windows (or other operating system) along with all the data from your old memory chip. There are YouTube videos showing you how to do this quite easily for those not familiar with the procedure. With this memory boost you also have the capability to upgrade to a more current operating system if that is your goal. The Kingston KC600 has performed flawlessly in my computer since I installed it and I use my old chip for additional storage.
