Braiding with Beads on the Kumihimo Disk Paperback – June 1, 2011

This book gives you the actual math to calculate the number of beads you will need for your design. Finally, I can buy just enough beads, not too many, not too few. It also has diagrams for cord color placement for different looks in your braiding. I've looked all over the Internet for diagrams, and never found any until this book. I will be going back to this book over and over for the calculations and for the diagrams. That were all it had, it would've been worth the cost!! The projects are also very nice and the instructions are detailed and easy to follow. I had considered myself an experienced beader, but this book taught me technique I never knew existed.

Really nice book. Pics and directions done well to produce lovely items. When I buy paperback books, I take them apart and put the pages and cover in binders inside plastic sheet protectors so that I can use the book in a flip fashion. I have many books set up in this way and find them invaluable for inspiration and direction.

I got right into the braiding with beads using this book. I am very pleased with the concise and easy to understand instructions. I am new to Kumihmo and I liked the concise directions in this book. It's not very big, but each project carries a lot of weight. I can't wait to try some of them. The picture on the cover attracted me, but the insides were just as enticing.

I have worked with kumihimo for many years and get excited about new books on the subject. This is the first time I feel disappointed in my purchase. Simply put, the book is pricey for the amount of information included. The projects are beautiful; there are several good tips in working with Kumihimo, but many books that came before this include much more indepth information than is included here for the price. 32 pages and 9 projects; not worth it!

I have all of Karen's previous books, and because of the limited number of designs, I was slightly hesitant. I should not have been. This is the best of the three books, especially for beginners. There is such a wealth of information in this book. I am totally satisfied, and would recommend this book to anyone, especially beginners, but not limited to them. Amazing book, really good for intermediate and more advanced Kumihimo. Has some amazing projects for you to try. True, the book is quite thin, but don't confuse the size with quality. Great techniques and easy to follow instructions, make this a must. It really inspired me to be more creative.

Very short but well illustrated. It didn't really give me much that was new. However the charts setting out quantities of different kinds of beads per inch was very useful.

Love this book! It explains everything, from the start-so good for beginners-which i am not, but still found the projects interesting, have tried a few and she inspires you to make it your own .
