My boys LOVE craft kits, but the stores definitely market crafts to girls. Another bonus with this craft is that when they are done, they are left with something they can play with! The quality is much better than I expected. The final jump rope is the same quality as a beaded jump rope you'd buy in the store. This is definitely a cheap option if you need a bunch of jump ropes too!

We used this kit for a summer camp and the kids loved it. The beads come separated by color so it was easy for kids to pick their own designs. The instructions are simple and straight forward but I would not that the ropes come in different lengths.

Ordered 2 sets at 5 am on Thursday and they showed up at my door on Friday at 3- one hour before the birthday party started!! Between the two packages each kid had plenty of beads to do exactly what they wanted- even a couple of kids who just wanted two colors. There is a height guide to help estimate how many beads are suggested. Our group was 9 and 10 and most kids used 63 beads. Two tall kids added 3-4 beads more. Don’t cut the rope until you test the length, by trying it out!. Then once you cut it, use a lighter to melt the cut end.I think they’re pretty great! It was a hit with the kids too!

My kids love jump roping, and the crappy jumpropes they've been using have been unhelpful. Those don't have the weighted beads, and they bend funny, and get all floppy. We ordered a set of these for our kids (10 and 8) and they've LOVED THEM — they are like the gym jump ropes. It was fun for them to be able to customize what their jump ropes in the patterns they want.Star rating is reduced because the quality of the beads. Unlike "institutional" quality, these beads have a tendency to crack and break. They are a bit of a "harder" plastic with less "flex" to them (if that makes sense), so they are a bit more brittle. The kit seemed to come with enough spare/replaceable beads, but I hate the idea of tiny pieces of plastic that gets scattered outside.

Ordered these for some activity time during quarantine. The kids loved them! Even my 13 year old made one and used it! Highly suggest for something to keep your kids busy and let them use their imaginations when picking out their own patterns. The pieces are a softer plastic so they don’t hurt as bad if someone gets whacked with a finished rope and won’t break when they hit the ground.

This is a really fun project! Multiple kids can make a rope, or one kid can make multiple ropes. The plastic beads sting a bit if you get hit, so they maybe aren't the best training ropes for a child brand new to jumping rope. My five year old loved building his rope and trying it out!

Easy to put together and work like the ones you remember in school. Make sure you double tie the knots. For 90% of users one knot will work, but I had one guy who was just hard on them and had the washer slip over the single knot on two different ropes.

My girls started using anything with length to create a jump rope. This was better than buying a regular jump rope. They loved being able to customize their own ropes in color and size, plus their is enough ropes for friends
