Great tool for learning!
We are using this pocket chart in place of a blackboard on the wall in our living room. I wanted something to hang up flash cards without having to use small items such as magnets or tacks which could not only possibly ruin my cards but might find their way to the floor. I have been trying to help my speech delayed, ADHD son get ready for kindergarten by having flash cards just hang on the wall and at times throughout the day going over our "sight board". Since he has very limited focus having the material set up and ready for any moment allows me to repeatedly go back and draw his attention to the chart and have him look at it and work with it more often for smaller time frames throughout the day. I bought one of those over the black board "ABC" banners that teachers usually have from a dollar store and since it is already broke down in sections I have found I can use them with this pocket chart without having to cut them in any way myself. I have been working on only a few things of different categories at a time and once he is comfortable with what is on the chart I will switch the cards up. Currently I have the "A,B,C,D" section of the alphabet banner up on the board as well as flash cards for six shapes, numbers 1-5 and the alphabet cards for each letter of his name and only a couple of sight word cards. If I had the Smethport brand cards which are shorter I could probably fit more cards on the chart but my cards are all different sizes and while they do fit and stay fairly securely I had to stagger the use of the pockets with some of the taller cards occupying the space of two pockets in height. When I can I get down some of the cards like maybe the letters of his name and work with him on the identification of and the sounds of each letter as well as having him try to put them in order himself, then I put them right back up when we are done. This was an excellent buy for our purposes and I would also say it was the perfect size for us.

Just the right size and durable
I was not sure whether to get this one or the longer one. However, I am happy with this size. So far we don't really need extra lines. Whatever we needed to cover, the lines are enough and it is easy to put in the cards. So far it has lasted us for almost half a year with a 5 and a 2.5 yr old. So I think it is rather durable.I would suggest that you get the card storage pocket with it if you are using this more than once a week. I have all my cards sorted and stored in different folders or pockets and it can be a bit annoying that they are not right there for me to get at or for the kids to practice on their own.It would be so much better if Smethport just sell the storage pocket together with the pocket chart.

I use this more than I thought I would
This is such a good idea for keeping flashcards tidy but still within eyesight for quick reviews. The picture shows Smethport Pocket Cards, which I also bought, but I have found that we use it everyday for my own hand written flashcards more often. We go through them every day and the ones that my child gets wrong we turn over and then re-do when we get to the end of all the rows. It makes the whole process very habitual and predictable, which I think kids of all ages like.

Great overall product!
This is fabulous and we have been using it about a week now with my 3.5 year old and he loves to learn, The chart itself is big enough to fit on the back of a door so that was a bonus that it was not too small or too big. You can fit 6 sentences which is great. The cards that you can buy separately for this all fit great and overall I love this and highly recommend it. My son is now reading sentences!

Smethport Midsize Pocket chart
This pocket chart is awesome. We also bought the sight word cards to go along with the chart. My son is 5 years old and he is excited every evening when its time to go over his sight words. We hung this chart in his bedroom on the wall. However, ours did not come with the card storage at the bottom; we only got the chart. If you are serious about teaching your kid sight words this will be awesome. Just like with other learning products this is something you will have to use every day for your child to actually learn the words!GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!

Good for Slightly Smaller Space
Useful size for most purposes --- doesnt require much wallspace. We added Velcro to the top and bottom and additional cards. Price was fair and quality is very good.

Pefect for working on sight words
We hung this on our wall and I just used regular index cards and wrote sight words on them, and they fit perfectly on the slots. my boys love it. they like to try and make sentences out of them now. It has helped so much and has been a lot of fun.

ok
We are using it for a calendar activity for a home schooler. Works good and is of sturdy material. We were able to clothes pin it to my blinds so I didn't have to put holes in my wall. Do wish I would have got the longer one because we are wanting to put more and more stuff up. May have to purchase another one.
