Good, spacious natural wood planter despite the manufacturing flaws
I have a MESIXI raised bed similair to this, but without the wheels and shelf. The planter is heavy once assembled, so being able to wheel it around is a definite plus. I like the idea of having the bottom shelf for storing tools or additional plants that don't need as much sun. It's a large spacious planter, offering plenty of space for my vegetables when it's planting season in the spring. I needed a raised bed to save my back and also to keep the plants out of reach of our toddlers (twins). The 6" depth should be deep enough for everything I want to grow, like bell peppers, hot peppers, cucumbers, basil, etc which I've been growing in pots. It is probably not deep enough for anything with a tap root, like carrots. Right now, though, it's a shelf for potted plants and deck toys.Assembly is straight-forward, with relatively simple steps. You'll want to use a power drill/driver. The included screwdriver is unusable for fastening screws into wood. Only the leg pieces are pre-drilled. Some of my pieces were slightly bent at the edges or over sanded, but overall, the pine pieces are smooth and good quality. The gardening tools included are pretty good. I use the soil rake often. It's got a good heft to it and can be used like a hoe to loosen up soil. The gloves are useful too for planting seeds. The right hand has plastic claws on the fingertips.Note that the material is spruce, a kind of pine. Pine is soft and splits easily, so do be aware of lifespan concerns. After this winter, I will update this review on how it fared.

Spacious but Best for Plants with Short Roots or for Potted Plants
Delivery was prompt. I like the spacious length & width. I am using the included fabric to protect the wood interior. I like the casters or wheels, which are easy to attach & two have locks. The bottom shelf also appeals to me for smaller plants needing less light. The trowel & cultivator tools seem made well, & the right glove with claws somehow reminds me of Halloween. I will keep the planter box indoors for my potted houseplants, at least through fall & winter. It fits nicely in front of my south picture window. The handsome solid pine seems sturdy. The instructions are minimal: there are 16 L brackets with 64 screws, but they are not listed in the instructions, so I had to return to the website for the product to see where they attach, which are visible in my photo. Thanks to a screwdriver bit attachment on my cordless drill, my fingers did not wear out on the gazillion screws, & assembly took about 2 1/2 hours, instead of 3. At 6.3" of depth, I wouldn't try growing carrots or any other deep-rooted vegetable, but flowers & herbs should fit. I have seen similar elevated planter boxes about the same length & width that are 12" deep, but without wheels. Once filled, they would be too heavy to move, except by two big, strong people.

Garden without bending over; assembly required
My son and I put this together. We used two Phillips screwdrivers (not the tiny screwdriver shown in the description). A rubber mallet would have been helpful, because some of the side pieces did not want to fit into the slots on the legs, but we used a hammer to pound them in. We also probably should have used a power screwdriver, because there were 19 wooden pieces to be attached with 42 screws, not counting the 16 corner brackets and the screws that came with them. (Plus 10 more pieces that fit in without being attached.) There were some minor imperfections where the wood could have been cut more precisely. The bottom shelf came preassembled, which was helpful. The pieces came well-packed.The instructions were good but they did not say anything about the corner brackets pictured on Amazon or the tiny screws included with them; those were obviously added after the instructions were written, to make this item more durable. The wood was soft and screws went in easily. All the outside predrilled holes were countersunk. I could not tell what kind of wood it was; I thought it was pine but the description on Amazon says it is spruce and also says the legs were cedar. The wood was lightweight and light colored. One side had some unattractive knots, but we plan to stain this anyway. The type of wood is important to us because we live in an area that gets a lot of moisture and has termites in the ground. I have another planter box similar to this that is made of cedar, which is resistant to termites and moisture. Untreated spruce and pine are not. We are hoping that applying the leftover stain from our deck will make this planter box more durable. Also, the wheels on the bottom will keep the legs from resting in puddles, and we will keep the planter on our deck, which is made of treated wood and is off the ground.I got this planter box because back and knee issues are making it difficult for me to maintain my garden. The height is good, and I should be able to grow flowers and herbs in it without bending over. The wheels will allow me to move it around to the best area for sun. I don't know if I will use the bottom shelf, but it does make it sturdier. I appreciated that it came with a couple of hand tools and gloves.

Great Size - Assembly Required
I am very pleased with this planter! This does need assembly - it comes in a bunch of pieces. It includes the hardware but not the tools you will need to put it together. The assembly takes time, but it is not difficult. You can leave the wheels off the legs if you don't plan to move this at all, but having the wheels is a nice option to have if you aren't 100% you will not need to relocate it.The box is a nice size. You can plant directly into it, or put pots into it. I lined mine with a plastic pond liner to form a fillable pool. Then I used grow bag pots places inside that. That allows me to fill up the planter with water and the dirt in the grow bags absorbs the water as needed. It's a "self watering system" of sorts with the plants being watered from the bottom and absorbing the water up through the soil. I like to grow my vegetables this way since it gives them very consistent watering and encourages root growth.I appreciate the shelf on the bottom of this. It's a perfect size for storing your hand tools or pest control products.Love it!
