I bought this bulb because I mistakenly thought that the old one was burnt out. It was in fact the Ott Light itself that was not working. I ordered a new Ott Light ( Amazon sent me a refurbished Light, beware) I didn't complain because I really needed this Light and the magnifying attachment to see the lines on my HTV cutouts. The new bulb is a life saver.

My previous Ottlite bulb didn't have any of the expected part numbers printed on it, but it did have an "(E)" on it, so I guessed that meant it was the electronic ballast version. I was right, yay. The bulb arrived intact and works perfectly. Note that the bulb can be plugged into the lamp in two different orientations, and only one of those is correct. If it doesn't work the first time you try it, just flip the bulb around and try it the other way.

the light bulb that arrived in bubble wrap package also had three box layers that it was contained in. The first layer was fine but the two inner layers were torn and had me believing that I had been sent an item that had been returned. Which, was ok if the reason was because the recipient needed an "A 13W" instead of an "E 13W" replacement. However, even though it was the correct bulb needed. it did not work when placed in the Ott Lamp I have. Trying the lamp plugged into other outlets to try to determine is it the bulb or is it the lamp did not produce light. Sadly a second lamp bulb has gone out this past week. Where do I go now for two? These lamps weren't cheap and are only a couple of years old. I rely on them for my studio work. Meanwhile a third lamp, my original one, that is ages old, is still going strong. I have loved these Ott Lights and so very disappointed that This is happening. I've pilfered my daughter's so I can continue working till I can determine a better solution than buying all new units. On a brighter note, Amazon handled the return quickly and satisfactorily.

Over priced and it works. Lots of packaging, but it arrived unbroken.

Actually, the right replacement bulb for once.

Bulb burned out on Ottlite Craft Organizer Lamp. Purchased this replacement bulb but it did not light up when installed. The lamp was a little challenging to take apart but when I finally opened it up, the electronic ballast was noticeably damaged with the top a large capacitor blown off. I replaced the capacitor but the lamp still didn't work probably due to another component failure like one of the transistors. I purchased a replacement electronic ballast for a 13W lamp. Everything is working now with new ballast and new bulb. Tested the old bulb with the new ballast but old bulb was burned out. I put overall rating as a neutral 3 only because some of you might purchase this bulb and still find out it doesn't light up due to some other failure. There are a couple of good youtube videos that cover repair and even conversion to LED bulb. Good luck all!

I was ready to buy a new light, but found this bulb that works from the OttLight people. So happy to have a working light again.

I am hoping this lightbulb will last as the original bulb for my lamp did not. Installation was a bit tricky with my lamp as the old bulb didn’t come out without some force. Luckily, the bulb didn’t break.

I depend on good lighting when sewing and this product was easy to find and works great.

The E light tube came in new unopened package, it did not work. I contacted Ottlite to find if I had ordered the right light tube Nov. 23 got a reply asking for more info Nov 28 sent the required info Nov 28 as Dec 4 have not had an answer. I ordered the E tube because there was a sticker with E-87225-s. Still unsure if the E tube is correct for this lamp or if it is defective
