A long time ago I had a dessert called falooda at an Asian restaurant and it was delicious. I've tried the falooda packs but I'm not keen on the noodles so I've started to make my own version.First add some milkshake (rose or cardamon or strawberry or mango, what ever you fancy), then add crushed ice and basil seeds and top with vanilla ice cream.These basil seeds plumped up nicely when soaked in water, there was a reasonable amount of gel around the seeds and the actual seeds were crunchy.

They are good for enhancing flavour and tastes nice but they are kinda expensive.

I had never thought of eating basil seeds. I absolutely love basil leaves in my salads so was interesting in trying these seeds.Added to salads they add a lovely flavour and crunch. Added to salads like potato salad they begin to become more gel like in consistency but you can still pick up a hint of the basil taste.I've heard it is great in falooda so now I am going to try that - I just need to sort out the other ingredients. I have also planted some hoping to enjoy some inside basil to enjoy in winter -none showing yet though

Be aware don’t buy, I just received the item It has mouldy stench ,like gone off with shoe mark all over the packaging, also I socked for about 4 hours half of them was still floating despite steering it few times, and i cant even return it, this is a joke

I hadn't thought of eating basil seeds before but they make a great topping on a salad or yoghurt.
