This is perfect for cooking and for sitting around. You can get a really hot fire going. So far, we have cooked meat on a stick in the flames, fried eggs and toast in a skillet, boiled water and made pasta in a pot, cooked potatoes and onions both wrapped in foil and placed in the fire as well as in a skillet with chicken. Still planning to make s'mores. We have also boiled bottled water for washing dishes because we have no kitchen right now and the water was not working either. (Thank God we have water now.) It has really been useful while our house is being remodeled. It has made camping in the house much more fun. I would highly recommend it.

The fire pit was fairly easy to assemble. We use it for everything. The grates are easy to remove or turn. It's very sturdy but not so heavy that it can't be moved. The cover that came with it didn't work out so well. There was no way to keep it attached or tied down.

Sturdy grill that was easy to put together. Can't wait to use it to grill on and to enjoy a nice fire outside. Comes with a nice cover. Had to add a bungee cord to the cover so that the wind wouldn't blow it off but other than that I'm happy with my purchase. Very well made and not incredibly heavy which I like. Would definitely buy again.
