Great plug and has an app
This works great for my outdoor porch lights and I can adjust the timer and brightness with the Kasa app.

Easy Solution!
This was the perfect solution to dim my patio lights. I bought string lights that were dimmable but didn't want to call an electrician to install a dimmable switch. This was a super easy solution. You plug this into the outlet, plug my lights into this, download an app, and then connect via Bluetooth. I'm now able to adjust the brightness with my phone and set up schedules of when they will automatically turn on and off. The app is very user friendly! I absolutely love this!

Works great
Works great to turn off and on our outdoor lights. Can set to come on and off at sunrise and sunset so you don’t have to constantly change the timing.

I purchased this outlet rated for outdoor use. 1 rain and it died.
Update: I installed this outlet. Worked great until we had rain. It's rated for outdoor use, which why I purchased it. We didn't have any rain until yesterday. I noticed the lights were flickering off and on during the day. I unplugged it. Now, it's dead and beyond the return date. Not happy. In fact, very unhappy. Can't contact seller (supposedly Amazon) for refund or replacement. Really sucks. This dimmer outlet requires you install an app on your phone to make it work. I can control it from the internet, but I'm not convinced the convenience of connecting everything to the internet is necessary. In my case, I want to create a schedule and then forget it. I don't need to access my lights from anywhere in the world. Set it and forget it. That's what I want. I installed the app and connected to the outlet. I was able to control my lights manually. I created a schedule to turn the lights on at sunset and off at 12 midnight. The lights came on at 3 in the afternoon. No indication when opening the app for the first time and creating my account of setting a timezone, so it defaulted to GMT. Seems to me, either it reads the time and time zone from the electrical power as some clocks do, or prompt me upon set up. Once I set the timezone, the lights turned on at sunset. Great. Come midnight, the lights are still on. I waited 15 minutes since some timers randomize the on and off time to simulate someone doing it manually, but they stayed lit. I checked the schedule the next day and set it for 11:59 pm off time. Still, they did not go off. I'm sure it is "pilot" error on my part, but setting the schedule seemed easy enough that I could not have screwed it up. I will continue to research for a solution, but in the meantime, I will have to turn them off manually.

Excellent with a few *
I picked up 20 of these because they were under $14 each, making them even cheaper than the lowest-cost Chinese Smart Life dimmers. For the price, they deliver a lot of value and functionality. Pairing these with the Kasa app was straightforward and hassle-free. Linking them to Google Home and Amazon Alexa was just as easy, and I had zero issues getting them to work with both platforms. One of the standout features is the design. Since the cable extends away from the unit, you can plug it into the lower outlet and still have room for something in the top outlet. This is a big advantage over some of my Lutron dimmers, which are bulky and tend to monopolize the entire outlet. Another great feature is the grounded outlet. Unlike many dimmer controllers, such as my Lutron and GE models, which only have hot and neutral connections, these include grounding for added safety and versatility. It is worth noting that these dimmers only support up to 4 amps, so you need to keep your load under 400 watts. For most modern LED lighting, this is not an issue. However, for some of my outdoor Christmas lights, which are older incandescent strings, I had to limit the number of strings I could connect. It was not a big deal, though, because these are so affordable that I just used a second one to handle the extra load. Finally, I was impressed by the lack of flickering. Even at low dimming levels, there was no noticeable flicker with my LED lights, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, these dimmers are a fantastic value and work flawlessly indoors and outdoors.

Good value for the features it provides.
Easy to set up with the app and onto Wifi. Responds quickly and fully dims my LED light string on my outside porch. Can set schedules for on/off or for dimming or brightening at certain times. Smaller than the previous device I had in place, so its much less visually intrusive. Good value for the features it provides.

Requires an app, but it's good and I'm blown away with what I got for what I paid!
I love this! I'm stringing outdoor lights for a wedding and wanted something that I could use to dim and control them during the event. This is part of the TP Link infrastructure (They make great routers, but I learned that they make a lot of smart device things now). You DO need a smartphone, as this requires the app and a common wi-fi connection to control, but after setup it is intuitive to control, and your control is great. You can micro control brightness on presets or manually adjust 1% at a time. Set timers for on and off or schedules. It has made me look more at TP link's smart home devices and integrate more because the app alone. There is no flickering on lights as you dim, and it is small and discreet. It provides great instructions for mounting to make sure that you don't get it ruined in outdoor applications with hardware to help mount. I was looking for something temporary, but I'm keeping this and setting this up in my home after the event. Also, seems to work well with any brand of LED lights, I'm using OLINY brand strings and linking 10 strands and it handles it well!

Convenient and easy to set up
I purchased this to replace a dimmer my dad (an electrician) made for me but got lost in a move. It works really well and was really easy to set up. I like that I can set the app to gradually dim the lights in the evening before completely turning off. I use this indoors only for our Christmas tree, but I would purchase more to use outside.

Ampliamente recomendable.

Weatherproof outdoor dimmer. Comes with a rubber flap to cover the outlet if nothing is plugged in. There’s a button on the unit to turn it on/off and dim. Main control with more features is done through the Kasa app. It’s a well laid out app with editing and personalization abilities. You can set a timer to turn the light on or off. You can also create a schedule for one-time or daily operations. You can even choose the dim level. There is also an away feature for when you’re on vacation. The package also contains a wire clip to hold the unit against the wall using the 4” cord. The great thing with the Kasa app is that you can control all of your Kasa items from one page. Kasa offers switches, dimmer switches, motion switches, motion dimmer switches, 3-way switches, switched outlets, power strips, dual exterior outlets and this single exterior dimmer outlet. I currently own multiples of each of these items for over a year now and I’ve been very satisfied with the experience. I have had no issues with any device and the app has worked flawlessly. Currently, all items only work with 2.4G (no 5G). If you’re looking to start creating a smart home, Kasa offers a wide range of items for your whole house. It’s better to get items that all use the same app to make things simpler and more convenient. The only thing missing, that I hope Kasa will eventually release, is the remote switches that Lutron offers for their switches. Their Decora style switches and dimmer switches are linked to a dedicated Lutron switch. You can then mount these remote switches in other locations, converting a single-pole switch into a 3-way. They even offer the mounting hardware and cover plate that looks like a wired switch. You can also leave these switches on tables, or wherever a switch would be most convenient for you. If Kasa were to offer their own remote switches to control their light switches and outlets, it would be the perfect smart home system. Other than that, they’ve covered everything else.

I’ve used Kasa plugs for a few years now. Love the product. This year I’ve had trouble with one of my plugs. Couldn’t get it to work. Tried troubleshooting with q&a with no luck. I sent an email and they responded promptly. I wasn’t as quick to give them information but Karen Elizabeth stayed in contact with me gave me time to respond and finally was able to fix my problem. She walked me thru each step, sent me pictures sent me links and I was finally able to get it working again. Along the way I found other features that I was not aware were on the app. All that said I was very pleased with the service I received. Thank you Kasa plug and TP link.
