If this is the first year of having your spider lilies planted, the foliage often appears even without the first bloom because it has adjusted to its new home. If you see tufts of grass-like greenery during the winter, that is the foliage of the spider lilies. The fact that the foliage appears during the winter while the nearby grass and weeds are dormant indicates that your spider lilies are healthy and growing. Many people make the mistake of cutting the foliage thinking that it is grass. This will kill the spider lily bulb. The bulb needs the foliage to take in nutrients from the winter sun to help it get through the summer and bloom the next fall. The foliage will die back naturally, and the bulb will go dormant for the summer. I hope this helps.

Great Looking Bulbs

UPDATE: Came up for 3 years but never bloomed and then died! UPDATE: As of 11/16, all have sprouted. Shipped the day after I ordered. Very nice, good sized bulbs. Can't wait to plant 'em.
