Hara Kiri

Paying homage to the satirical doomsday romance genre, Hara Kiri explores the dark extremities of love and the innate sense of belonging. That was a review given by someone else. 2 young me make a suicide pact at the very beginning and we follow them around for the last day of their lives???? or is it? Beto is having second thoughts and August still wants it, they feel they don't belong here in this world. Seems to me that a lot of this conversation was not written script but adlibbed. That makes these 2 actors pretty amazing. I started out thinking I would hate it and i didn't hate it at all. Definitely something different.

There's potential to the idea of this, but the execution is horrid. August & Beto are a good example of crazy love or folie a deux. We're put in the chaos they've chosen for their last day on Earth & it's a mess. There are a few moments that are relatable in regard to their chosen path, but the bulk of the day & their actions is annoying, as is the soundtrack. I really think their energy would have been better put to a story of the lovers opting to go on a crime spree instead of committing harakiri. The actors had a good, violent energy that feels misplaced in this plot. And don't even get me started on how I feel about the ending to this, because WTF Beto???Beyond the script issues, the physical DVD has some problems. I honestly wondered if I had a counterfeit copy because I couldn't get it to go to a main menu. It went immediately to the scene selections then played the movie. After it played through, though, it went to the extra features so I could see the bonus clips that were a deciding factor in my buying this. Those features aren't worth it, but at least they were actually there & accessible.All said, I don't recommend this one. I can't even say it was worth a watching. You can find clips of the only good parts online & those are worth the watch, but you're not missing anything worthwhile by watching the whole movie.

For an LGBT movie it was not bad. However the story is very non traditional than most American films. Sorry no spoilers.

Lange Dialoge welche aber eigendlich uninteressant sind. Bilder die mehr oder weniger nichts sagen und jeder Zeit austauschbar erscheinen. Eine Geschichte - Storry welche bestimmt sehr gut ist aber diese ist hier, sehr sehr schlecht umgesetzt worden. Keine Dramatik, keine Spannung und schon gar keine irgend wie "kribbelnden" Szenen oder gar irgend eine gute Aussage. Die Schauspieler überzeugen gar nicht und jeder Leihe hätte vermutlich mehr aus dem Stoff gemacht.Von mir ein klares "gefällt mir nicht" bzw. rate ich ab von einem Kauf um sich die Enttäuschung zu ersparen!
