Works fine, but any cable you plug in to it outweighs it and it tips up
Works as advertised. What keeps it from being 5 stars, you ask. It's so light weight that the cables tip it over. I'm probably going to mount it to a piece of wood to create a bigger base

Great HDMI Switch
This is a very nice switch with optical audio output. Nice remote. Device really works well. The only problem I have with this device is that there is a single HDMI input on the front of the device, and 2 inputs and 1 output on the back. It would have been better if all the input and output connections were on the back of the unit. With the unit as it is, if you want the switch unit to face toward the viewer in order to optimize the remote control, one of the input HDMI cables must come out in front of the switch unit and then turn back to insert into the receptacle on the front of the device. This is mildly unpleasing from an esthetic point of view. It would be better if all HDMI cables connected in the back of the device. On the other hand, the device works very well, and does what it says, and it is easy to put into your system.

Does the Job - But Not Forever. BEWARE!
Update #2 - After upgrading the electrical outlet powering this device today it no longer works. Yes I unplugged the switch’s power adapter for doing ANY work and yes all other equipment in my system works I swapped the USB cable to now avail the power adapter may be faulty but I have no way of conveniently testing that.Add to this that after submitting a second request to Advenk support regarding my previous questions, again NO REPLY.I will buy a different switch, supported in the USand will never buy from this company againUpdate - This device stopped passing any video signal from my Sony UBP-X800 player. I updated the cables to high speed HDMI (even though the previous cables had worked fine) and the problem persisted. Connecting the HDMI cable directly to the TV was successful, so I know it’s not the cable. The worst thing, however is LACK OF SUPPORT FROM AVENK-USA. Upon advice from Amazon support I have contacted Avenk through their seller page on Amazon twice, a few weeks apart. THERE HAS BEEN NO RESPONSE. EVEN IF YOU TELL ME “SORRY, WE CAN’T HELP” YOU, AT LEAST YOU COULD *TALK TO ME*. What gives, Avenk? It looks like I will have to buy a new switch. Very, very, VERY disappointed in the (lack of ) customer service.**************************My rating for this 4K HDMI switch is based solely on its utility for me in a non-4K environment. I purchased it mainly to be able to route the audio from SACD discs playing in a Sony UBP-X800 player, which has no analog outputs. Nearly all DACs do not decode the DSD stream from SACDs, due to Sony and Philips having locked down SACD encoding/decoding with encryption and legal protections.I wasn’t hopeful that the Avenk, with its analog outputs, would actually analog signal from the Sony’s HDMI output. But it does. I haven’t done critical listening Diana Krall and Norah Jones sound better than from lossless files via iTunes.Yes, I know that SACD is a “dead” format, but some are still being issued, and at times higher quality SACDs can be had for the same price as Red Book CDs of the same album. And streaming can leave you without the music you want or nothing.I’m also using the Avenk to switch between the Sony and a satellite receiver since my Toshiba display have enough HDMI ports. I use a Logitech Harmony remote to control all my devices (except for my DECware amp) and I was able to integrate the Avenk into the remote. The only issue I have is turning off the ARC when playing CDs and SACDs - I don’t need the TV on for that. I’ll figure it out.Whether the HDMI video signal is transferred without degradation, I don’t know. At standard 1080 resolution it really doesn’t matter. If I upgrade to 4K I may be able to tell, but I’m out contemplating that too soon.

Good buy if you need an audio out or extra hdmi ports
So everything works perfectly just as it should the only problem I had was the fact that the remote was small and I hate having multiple remotes so I emailed the seller and asked for the remote codes and then sent me the codes the same day s I could program it to my Logitech harmony remote after that I found a simpler way to do it but that just made my life so much simpler I have my blu-ray player my Amazon fire stick my Chromecast and my bose cinemate speakers all hooked up to it and it works like a charm good buy.

SONOS surround sound solution
this worked great, exactly what i needed to hook up my Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and PS4 with an HDMI output to my Optima GT1080 projector and an optical output to my SONOS surround sound system ( playbar, sub, 2 play 1s). Works like a charm and highly recommend it for people looking to hook up similar setups to there SONOS system that either want to eliminate their receiver or do not have a receiver that has an optical output. Works with Dolby Surround 5.1

... switches ports with a very brief change in power like even when loading a menu or something
Sometimes it switches ports with a very brief change in power like even when loading a menu or something. The picture quality is great and functionally the unit is perfect for the price. The remote works, but isn't great. The unit looks sleek and i am happy with my purchase. if it didn't switch inputs so easily, i would be happier with it. There is a benefit to the auto switch being that when you turn a new unit on, that it will automatically go to it. Other than that, i wish it didn't have it.

Works well but has some issues
Product works well and seems consistent when trying to connect a device (Blu Ray player or Cable Box) to a TV. However, the bad thing about it is if you turn your TV off, the device shuts off. This means in order to turn your TV on again and receive an HDMI channel, you must turn this switch back on. I wish there was a setting that you could have it be left on and tuned to the last input.
