The Alen BreatheSmart Fit50 is ideal for large and extra-large sized living spaces including living rooms, bedrooms, gyms, nurseries, laundry rooms, guest rooms, bathrooms, offices, kitchens, basements and more! Developed by NASA airflow engineers, the BreatheSmart Fit50 cleans 900 SqFt every 30 minutes. Alen’s True HEPA-PURE filter is best for removing airborne allergens, dust, pollen (produced by trees, flowers, & grasses), pet smells, fur, and household odors. It comes with a Medical Grade H13 True HEPA layer that removes 99.99% bacteria, aerosolized viruses, and airborne particles larger than 0.1 micron. HEPA-PURE is our BASE filter and provides clean fresh air by trapping airborne irritants that cause seasonal allergies and congestion. A Laser Smart Sensor detects airborne particles and self-adjusts to address the challenges of the ever-changing environment. The LED color display has 3 quality color indicators that update in real-time: Blue = Excellent (low levels of particles) Orange = Fair (moderate levels of particles) Red = Poor (high levels of particles). Any room, whether it is a large room like a living room or kitchen or even an apartment, the BreatheSmart Fit50 has an auto setting so you can have clean air all day and night. It comes with an ozone-safe ionizer that aides in cleaning the air, by producing negative ions which attract and clump ultra-fine particles together so the HEPA layer filters can trap the dirty air. Built to be compact, but mighty, the Fit50 is a little under 2 feet tall and 17 inches wide and has a powerful punch to clean air quickly and quietly. It has four fan speed options; the lowest produces a small frequency, like a whisper. On the turbo fan setting the BreatheSmart Fit50 emits a frequency called pink noise which is a lower tone then the white noise and sounds like a gentle rainfall. Includes: 1 BreatheSmart Fit50 Air Purifier, 1 True HEPA-Pure Filter, 1 Panel

Where's the Lifetime Guarantee?
This product actually worked great (past tense). For about 2 years, it was great for my home. Quite, efficient, awesome. Two weeks ago, it suddenly stopped worked without warning.Their documentation troubleshooting is a joke, and no help.Their site had no information.I've written to the company support point of contact repeatedly (I figured I'd wait because of thanksgiving), their online chat doesn't ever seem to be active, and I have had no way to replace or repair this malfunctioning device. So yeah. I'm gonna go give Dyson my business now. Thanks a lot for the great two years, but if you're thinking of buying this product, please DO NOT count on the "guarantee".

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement
I have severe allergies, and have used a competing air purifier for decades with great support. I decided to try Alen Air after moving on a friend's recommendation, and because of their high on line ratings. I'm sorry I didn't stay with my old units, and sorrier still that the other Alen I bought (the smaller Flex) is now past the return date.To start, the Fit50 showed poor air quality when we first hooked it up in our living room, as did the Flex in our bedroom. After a day, the Flex turned blue - the Fit50 was still red. We waited two more days, then began to experiment. First, we put the Fit50 in the bedroom, with the Flex in the living room. The Flex showed blue; the Fit50 was still red after a continuous 8 hour run. (The bedroom, door closed, is well under the Fit's capacity. Small, in fact.) Then we took both sets of filters out, cleaned them, and on the Fit, cleaned the optical area as well. When we replugged it, the Fit showed blue - for about a minute. Then, with no change to anything - no opened door, no dog walking past, no AC on - it went red again, and stayed there. At that point I called. Weekday morning, about two hours after their opening, and all I could get through to were the sales staff. No one in any other department answered, despite my trying for several hours. The sales person giggled (really), and assured me it was "because the Fit50 is SO much stronger than the Flex, so it must be picking up a lot more air problem!" That made a tiny bit of sense, and she asked me to wait through another couple of days "for it to settle".I realized the clock was running out, and tried tech support again. This time, neither tech help nor sales answered, despite trying for two hours and ringing two dozen times on each. So, I started a return process, figuring two days before the return limit would then give me another 30 to talk with Alen. Amazon's page asked if I wanted their tech support; sure, why not? I got the most marvelous person, William by name, who asked what I'd done so far. After I'd run down the list, he agreed there was nothing more I could do and asked me to hold while HE called Alen Air.Which he tried. And tried. To no avail. What good is a "lifetime guarantee" if you can't reach anyone in the company?I returned the Fit50, but it's too late to return the Flex. (Which does appear to be working, at least, for now.) I'm going to dispute the charges for extra filters I bought directly from the company, and I really wish I'd bought them from Amazon instead.Hunting around further on line, I found several other purchasers with the same complaint. All I can advise is, do not buy these. Stick with Austin, who've been around forever and are noisier and less pretty but at least work and have great customer support. Or try Rabbit, which is what I got after returning the Fit50. But stay away from these people. A company that sends out auto-emails saying "We received your question and will answer within X" and then never answers, is unavailable by phone or chat, and insists you speak with sales instead of tech support, is not worth doing business with.

An Expensive Mistake
It worked for a couple of days, The didn't. Then did. Now it doesn't work at all. It's huge and unattractive. The manufacturer doesn't give refunds, but said they would replace it if I wanted to pack it up and ship it back. The shipping cost would have been outrageous, and finding a box that would actually fit it was impossible. Don't buy this.

Works, but after attempting to contact the company twice ...
Works, but after attempting to contact the company twice about a broken switch they never responded. I was able to wiggle the switch to a position were the filter will actually work, but it was assembled with the ridge forward so if you try to push the filter in, it snaps. The slope should of be forward, the switch is backwards. Be careful when replacing the filter.Update 3/12/2017 - Not sure how effective the filter is, even after being a way for 8 hours in a closed room, i still see many dust participial in the air when the light in the room is right.

FAULTY PRODUCT WITH WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ***EVER***
After spending over $500, this product never worked correctly from the start then after very, very light usage it stopped working after 3 months. So incredibly disappointed! Wish I would have gone with a Dyson product. Customer Service is only open 9-5 weekdays despite what the website says. It's a lie. They do not pick on Saturdays. I am a busy business leader and mother so it's not valuable to me to provide service during the hours that I am at work.WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They never get back to me, never open on Saturdays as indicated. I have been trying to connect with then off and on for 6 months. They are just avoiding me and my device does not turn on. Lifetime guarantee is an absolute lie. Hope no one else get's swindled like I have been!

My home's air is much cleaner now!
When I decided to do something about the poor quality of the air in my home, I began researching air purifiers. After looking at the features, cost and reviews of many brands, the best combination of these elements led me to the Alen line of air purifiers. I chose the Fit50 unit as it's capabilities best fit my downstairs area where I spend most of my time. Since I installed the unit I have seen the air quality improve dramatically. The unit was very easy to set up and get working and it has been running 24/7 since without problems. The unit was expensive compared to the air purifier unit I had before, but has proven to be much more effective at cleaning te air. The filters are also more expensive to replace and that is probably why the system is so much more effective. I am very satisfied with this unit and am hoping that it will continue to function well on into the future. One thing to note, while the unit is very quiet on the lower fan settings, when it kicks over to the higher setting when using the unit on the AUTO setting (it adjusts fan speed based on a sensor that reads air quality) it is a bit loud, not horribly so but much more noticeable. So far, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Excellent
Easy to use and set up

Decently quiet
Nice looking machine, seems to do the work, cleans the air and it’s not too noisy. The filters are less expensive than similar price machines. Will update my review in the future.
