Best Practices Make sure to oil the threads of the adjustable bolt to reduce friction and increase the life to the tool. Install separator on spindle support arm and ball joint. Tighten enough to hold the tool in place while hands-free. Strike the outer housing ball joint socket several times with a ball pin hammer to loosen the connection. Resume tightening the adjustment bolt until the ball comes loose Repeat process if the joint does not separate after 2 full turns of the adjustment bolt.
