AllerEase Ultimate Allergy Protection and Comfort Zippered Mattress Protector, Twin

After reading that this product was a frequently returned item (despite the high star rating), I looked further at the 1-star ratings to make my decision. Several purchasers sated that their mattress protector ripped while placing it over mattress or it was not waterproof as stated in the description. I purchased 2 in twin size for my daughter's day bed with trundle. I placed the protector on the top mattress myself (yes, it would have been simpler with 2 people), however it did not rip. I was careful not to tug or pull too hard. I also purchased the organic cotton mattress pad by AllerEase to place on top of the protector. I slept on the day bed that night and never heard any "plasticy" noises. This may be helpful for those considering their selection not based on having a bedwetting youngster (or animals). I simply wanted something to help protect the new mattresses to keep dust/allergens, etc. out. I have always placed a mattress pad over the mattress protector. If you are like-minded in wanting to minimize chemical exposure that we are bombarded in today, I looked into the HEIQ technology listed on the packaging of the protector. It's purpose is to minimize odors from bodies (human) and as a result of bacteria. Again, I have a mattress pad over the protector. I was equally satisfied with the pad from AllerEase which is organic cotton as the top surface. The sides are the typical synthetic nylon or polyester found in most similar products. I hope this will help others decide what is right for them.

Chose the AllerEase Ultimate Allergy Protection Ultimate Cotton to help cut down on allergens from our mattress. Amazon states that this product is returned frequently, so a few details: Item is difficult to dry after washing as stated in reviews. Due to waterproofing the mattress cover comes out of the wash dripping like a plastic bag, plan on hanging the mattress cover for a few days to allow for air drying, then toss in dryer for a short period to fluff. Note that we noticed that the cover seemed to stick together in a few places when we tried to dry it in the dryer for over 15 minutes, air drying with a short fluff in the dryer worked beautifully. Fits the mattress nicely, slides over like an envelope with a zipper closure on one end. A definite two-person task to put the cover on. The cover does have a waterproof feature so it does have the "crinkle" sound, however the ultimate cotton feature on this cover refers to the top which is softer and quieter for sleeping. Also purchased the pillow covers to cut down on allergens. So far we're noticing a marked difference in the mornings, waking up with no stuffiness or sneezing. A good purchase for us at a fairly reasonable price point. Quality: Nice zipper seems to be good quality Comfort: Ultimate cotton top provides a more comfortable, less "crinkle" sleeping experience

This cover is perfect. Just bought a second one after having the first for a year. Great fit for a 15” queen. Took the original off a bed it had gone on when the mattress was brand new (and embarrassingly long between washes of the cover). I get night sweats and the mattress cover had become sweat stained - I was worried about what I’d fine when I took off the cover but the mattress was pristine - absolutely like new. This cover did its job beautifully. And the cotton cover is good for not trapping heat, as advertised.

Best mattress cover ever definitely worth the investment

This is a great product. It doesn't make a bunch of noise while it's on. It functions the way it should. It's easy to wash. It fits perfectly. I would not consider this a waterproof product. However, It does product the mattress from dust mites and sweat so maybe calling it more "leakproof"? Waterproof to me just seems like if something was spilled on it (like a glass of water) the mattress would still be dry. That is not the case with this product. The only downfall of this product, in my opinion, is how difficult it is to get on the mattress. This product fully encloses the mattress so you have to be strong enough to lift the entire mattress. I have a king size mattress so it's not the easiest thing to do.

Great cover and easy to put on

Really like these because it protects the mattresses at a fully furnished condo we own. You need another person to help you put it on but once it’s on, it stays put. We don’t have issues with bed bugs but the state is highly known for them so with these I don’t need to worry about it. It’s waterproof and doesn’t feel plastic/cheap, no issues with drinks or menstrual leaking and ruining the mattresses. Directions say it can be washed but it will melt if put in the dryer regardless of how cool you make it. It holds up very well, I only change out when I change tenants. It helps with Allergy protection too which my tenants appreciate.

This fit our Queen size bed wonderfully! Our whole family has allergies and this protector helped, can be snug placing on the mattress but it does the job!
