Very informative and easy to read

Not a detailed history, but a nice overview of Miller's work.

great reference book on an amazing man and his machines

I guess I've been spoiled by Karl Ludvigsen. His books--you understand the carmaker as a whole, and he explains not only the results of the engineering but the thinking behind it, moreover explains the company from financing, budgeting, marketing, distribution, supply chains, manufacturing, sales, servicing, everything...we have a notion of how the "bean counters" killed off the car guys. True enough when they were allowed to have their way, but without enlightened bean counters a company cannot survive.This book has a lot of illustrations, but does not deal with the thinking behind the designs, nor does it try to understand the causes for failure, other than saying his talent was not for business. I strongly suspect the Mark L Dees book, although much harder to obtain, will be more satisfactory for those who are trying to understand just exactly how Harry Miller accomplished what he did.

What can be said about such an inventive mind? He had that rare ability to mentally visualize a "something", and then the mechanical expertise to produce it. Maybe "Thanks" is the best word. regards dave

Solid book, well researched, good historic photos of decent quality.

Good summary book of Harry Miller history and Miller engine and car with lot of picture. However if you are looking for more detail about Miller life you will stay on your appetite. Good buy for the price.
