"FAMILY RECIPE" BOOK! Great way to pass the knowledge on.
My husband was giving me suggestions on how I should organize my recipes cause I was printing from online, referring to my numerous cookbook collection, or off the product packages and tweaking them all but never noting the adjustments...which he tells me should be done so he can keep enjoying my versions on a consistent level. Honestly when making something over and over I don't need to note but I guess it's a good idea for when someone wants my recipe (just copy and give it to em), does make life more simple and uncomplicated. So he gave me the great idea of ditching my 1/2" binder with sheet protectors and get a product like this. I wanted something that would tell my husband but mainly my two boys where my favorite family recipes are and this is clearly stated in the front of the 3 ring binder. The cards are great although it's plain white in the back (it would have been nice to carry the design over...no biggie I'm not gonna cry over it - boohoo). The 8x11 sheet protector that's included is nice and thick but stay a little warped from the binders, I don't find it suits my needs, I like the regular Avery sheet protectors; much more flexible, especially when I turn the pages...I'm cautious and very careful with my possessions so I don't need the thick sheet protector that came with this product. I just wipe if I get anything on them, haven't yet and it's always right in front me resting on a cookbook holder when cooking from it. I love the pre-labeled tabs!Great product, my boys (or maybe their future wives) will have a reference book to go to when I've passed. I love teaching my boys how to cook and the basics of being in the kitchen and home. That's what happens in my family cause I have no daughter to pass my domesticated knowledge to...oh yeah my boys (18 and 13) know how to steam clean a home, cook simple dishes for themselves and me, and do laundry (since they were in elementary school, 4-5 grade). The great thing is, as I domesticate them in the home my husband teaches them how to use his tools and be a man inside and outside the home. Uh huh, any female interested in marrying my sons will surely be blessed!

Pretty nice for the price
The majority of my recipes are printed from the internet on 8.5 x 11 inch paper so 3 ring binders are the best way for me to organize them. I do have some recipes that are handwritten and will fit on the 5 x 7 inch cards. What I liked about this binder: Nice quality and attractive for the price. Provided not only the 8.5 x 11 Inch inserts but also 25 of the 5x7 Inch recipe cards with a few inserts to hold some of them. While they did not provide a huge quantity of either type of insert, they are readily available for purchase and I figure that the fewer numbers certainly kept the price down. What I didn't like about this binder were the category divider tabs (other purchasers also took issue). While I do not love the categories as listed, I can certainly live with that. My major complaint is that the inserts are larger than the divider tabs so you cannot see the category tabs at all. The whole point of having the tabs is so that you can open the binder and see where you need to flip to at a glance. This "defect" makes the divider tabs almost pointless. If it bugs me enough, I'll end up replacing the divider tabs with large ones but overall a good purchase.

Nice Binder with a Few Major Problems
I wanted a food-themed binder to organize all of the recipes I print out from online. This seemed like a good option, since it already came with dividers and I would not have to make my own.Well, the binder itself is nice, and I like it. It is bright, colorful and glossy, relatively sturdy and the ring binders are attached at the middle, which was important to me. That being said, however, there is one big thing I would change, and that is the food categories listed on the page divider tabs. They are categorized in a way that didn't make a lot of sense to me. For example, they are listed below, and I commented on a few:AppetizersSauces & SoupsSaladsVegetablesMeats (I actually put all meats here: chicken, beef, pork, etc.)Fish & Poultry (Why not put Poultry with the meats? Fish should be separate. It would've made more sense to have one just labeled "Seafood")Breads & RollsDessertsI feel one glaring omission was a "Pasta/Rice" category, which in my case, is a huge deal, so I made one of my own using a blank page divider. I also revised the Fish & Poultry to just have a "Seafood" section.Additionally, I do recommend buying sheet protectors separately because this kit only comes with 8 of them. It also comes with 6 sheet protectors that hold (3) 5x7 recipe cards, and 25 blank recipe cards. So while a nice kit with a decent binder, it is far from perfect. A little tweaking by the manufacturer and it could be absolutely fantastic.

Great cookbook
I wasn't looking for a professional cookbook, just a simple one that I could easily add on to over the years. This is the best one, by far, for the money. Also, the refill pages and extra recipe cards are inexpensive. It is traditional for my family to have each recipe hand-written but I don't have the best handwriting. Therefore, I like the large 5x7 cards so I can easily fit all ingredients and directions with it still being legible. I do agree about the dividers being a bit off. I didn't need a separation of meats (we are vegetarian anyway--haha) and it would have been nice to have a rice/pasta choice. However, these are not to be recipes I use on a regular basis, just mostly family holiday ones so it's not a big deal to me. I may have to purchase enough for all of my kids so they each have one to share with their own families one day.

Nice folder. Was disappointed it doesn't fit the A4 size clear pockets in though. I thought it would.
