These are VERY cheaply made, complete garbage
I've had hemostat forceps that I paid a DOLLAR for 25 years ago that finally failed. They were mirror polished, had perfect mating of the jaws, were strong as heck, the tips were perfectly mirrored and rounded, and the latches released smoothly in every position.THESE HAD ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THOSE THINGS!! Not ONE.They also hurt your fingers trying to get them to release, since the edges weren't smoothed properly on some of them. These are worthless even for light "hobbyist" duty, look elsewhere. The very definition of cheap junk. Pay a bit more and get a good tool, cheap tools are almost never worth it. Returned.

Multiple orders, quality changed with vender
Update.. 2 different venders. GO VETMED..VETMED 5 STARS.. WORTH THE DIFFERENCE IN COSTOTHER VENDER I WOULD RATE 3.5 STARS. WAY SHORTER. TOP AND BOTTOM AREN'T VERY FLUSHI ordered 2 sets, twice.. so four all together. Idk if the vender changed. But i recieved different sizes (wayyy smaller) in second order, then the first order. Kinda disappointed about that.

Inexpensive, sound product for household use.
Hemostats for less than $2.00 each. Yes they work. They are shiny metal, imported I am sure. But these are ideal for certain tasks around the house. Hair in the bathroom sink drain, no longer draining quickly? Pulled the drain stopper out and used one of these to pull gobs of hair out. Then used Drain Opener for the S trap. Problem solved. Same deal with the pool vac - pulled leaves out. They have reach and lock. I suppose some people might use these to remove fish hooks, or, hold roaches for their final burn.

Bought these for projects. They work great for that.
Now I can't speak as to how good these are for any sort of medical uses. I use hemostats for various projects. Working with small wires, small components, etc etc. Or in some cases larger components even. This is a pretty good kit I think. The three sizes cover most uses pretty well and I love that you get with this one curved and one straight. The curved can be great for getting in between components and the straight can be great for holding things in place -- or vice versa depending on one's needs at a given time. The small one is very small and great for tiny things, the medium is very adaptable for most other uses, and the large one is great for really big tasks like simply holding components in place or that sort of thing. It's actually pretty hard in particular to find good really small ones, so I was glad for that. These also do lock well (I have had one that would come loose very easily) and the tips are evenly shaped (I've had one with a tip that was shaped differently making it a bit loose and it was bad at actually holding stuff.) Overall I feel like they're made to pretty decent quality standards for their price. For the amount you pay I think you get a pretty good deal.

Consistently high quality, sturdy tools
I use these hemostats in tie-dye processing. I have purchased many hemostats in various shapes and sizes from many different suppliers. I have no fewer than 60 pairs of hemostats currently in use. This batch is particularly good. Even under maximum load with very thick materials, not a single one of them has popped open. While the teeth and their grip is very good and secure, they are still quite easy to open because the angles of the teeth are all correct. I highly recommend these. In many reviews, people say I would buy again. In this case I have purchased again.

Good for hobby & household use
These are great for household use. I purchased these to help with certain sewing projects. However, I'm a vet tech. If you are a veterinarian thinking you'll save a few bucks, just don't. Half of them don't close unless they are locked. One pair took both hands against a countertop to pry open. And they are just overall kind of unpolished and rough around the edges. The picture is of the straight mosquito on the first stage of the lock.So in conclusion, these are great for hobby & household uses, but please don't use them on living things.

not bad
I use these to hook rugs together. Just received: one 3.5 inches, one 5 inches, and four 6.25 inches. Not at all like the picture which implies you will get multiple different sizes and the largest two appear large in comparison to the medium. But they all clamp together good, appear well made and will keep them. At gun shows can buy these for $1.00 piece but then there is a large fee to pay just to get in so it all evens out.

don't expect much
If you've ever used an actual lab or clinical grade hemostat, you will not like these. Some have misalignment of the jaws, all have a rough finish, most have one jaw thicker or longer than the other. One expects the jaws of a hemostat to first touch together at the tip before the locking mechanisms touch, so that you can use them like forceps. Most of these, and the smaller ones are the worst, have the locking mechanism touching (providing resistance but not yet locking) before the tips of the jaws touch. This makes then difficult to use for fine holding. Perhaps OK for fishing if you are just pulling a hook out of your catch, but not suitable for fine detail work like electronics and some hobbies.
