It so easy to use!
I liked the ease of use. It lasts a long time once a piece is shaved off of it and put into a palette. I cover the palette with plastic wrap and re-wet the paint when I'm ready to use it again. Fabulous color, too!

Gorgeous color at a decent price
A beautiful dark color. It’s similar in hue and value to a Payne’s gray, but with beautiful granulation. buying a 12ml stick costs only a little more than a 5ml tube, and about half of a 15ml tube, so it’s by far the most economical way to get this color. Once you break off a piece and stick it in a watercolor pan, it acts exactly the same as poured Daniel Smith paints.

Love This!
Love this watercolor stick. I am using it to replace a pan watercolor. Very vivid. The stick was wrapped and was loose in the box with other items and arrived cracked. Since I am not using it as a stick it works for me. Love the color. I believe that I will change over to sticks for the convenience.

Nice color but poor pigment
Compared to the other colors opera red seems less pigmented, is not that easy activate the pigment and as much as I try it, won't have the same results I obtain with all the other colors I've tried in this presentation

Opaque
Very opaque white. Since this why I bought it, I am very pleased. Beware- don’t let it get damp. It gets soft fast.

Daniel Smith is great quality and these sticks are no exception
Daniel Smith is great quality and these sticks are no exception. You can get vibrant colour really easily as the stick is soft enough to release lots of watercolour when you want it to but it does not make a mess or anything.

Can be divided into pans!
I have a set of watercolor half-pans by Daniel Smith, and the stick format makes it really easy to transfer the pigment in half or complete pans. It's the same pigment as the one used in tubes, and I don't have to wait for it to dry. The stick was very dry though, and I had to let it pick up moisture next to a water bowl in a plastic container for a few days, but it was possible to cut it with a palette knife. Great product, and the color is beautiful!

Not the same color as the tube.
La couleur est différente de celle du tube. Elle est plus rosée.The color of the stick is not the same as the tube. It is more pink, not as violet, than the paint in tubes. Not sure if the pigments formulation changed. I prefer the first one. I will not buy this again.
