**UPDATE** I’m removing two stars because the guppy grass all melted within a few days. So the 3 stars are for the few adorable snails I got.I’m so sad it all turned to sludge as my corys are starting to breed and I bought it for their spawning.The guppy grass arrived fast with lots of great hitchhikers that, unfortunately didn’t make it… or so I thought! I separated as many snails as I could find into a separate cup with tank water and moved on to try to figure out how to add this stuff to my tank. I contacted the sellers that got back to me very quickly but they just told me to put it in my tank and it will form it will grow and tangle together to form a ball, but the filter in my tank just made it fly around in circles and it wouldn’t stay in one place ( there aren’t really any pieces over 2 inches). I used the blue filter holder that my filter came with (since I don’t need it in my filter) and it actually worked perfect as a holder until the guppy grass grows, tangles up and roots.After solving that I check on the poor snails and guess what?! A mystery snail and several adorable tiny snails made it!

This bag had not a great ordor like maybe something had died in it and I was right. The bag had dead snails, brine Shrimp and most scary of all, something that looks like it could be planaria. Other than the smelly water and dead creatures inside the plant looks very healthy and was all green with nearly no dead leaves. Definitely a plant that NEEDS quarantine if you buy it!

So I first got only snails and a pack of dirt. I then reached out to seller and they sent me the grass. It came and my husband couldn’t stop comparing it to something he can go and pick out of a lake in the park lol. Basically it was dirty water BUT, it had cute little critters like shrimp in it, snails, and some of the grass was still green. Generous handfuls, and I realize they say it’ll grow back but my tank water got super icky and I had to remove it. My fishes were upset when I did, they LOVE this grass- LOVED IT! Not too bad for a first time purchase but the fact that I didn’t receive what I ordered, some of the grass was icky, it didn’t last long, and my water got dirty- then it wouldn’t be too bad for first time order.

When the package arrived, I was amazed at the amount of guppy grass. Very green and healthy looking. Then I noticed some tiny snails, and noticed more tiny snails. As I went through it, seriously, there looked to be hundreds of snails.If you don’t mind the snails, I would recommend this. For the amount of guppy grass I received, it’s a good deal. But the snails aren’t for me.I separated out bunches into a few containers thinking I could remove them, but, the eggs (slimy, slimy bubbles of snail eggs) were everywhere. My fish, shrimp and I were all very disappointed. Especially the shrimp, I think.

The description reads that they might come with snails which I know some people don’t like but I enjoy having ramshorns in my tanks and my handful of grass came with a few. Cute little guys and they’re great for a clean up crew. Not a ton of grass for the price but a solid amount, I certainly don’t regret buying and if I needed to get more would probably reorder from here. Healthy and really bright green, this grass looks really good and grows pretty quick. Great hiding spot for fry and the scuds I have in my tank. Great product.
