What is the height from the ground to the highest step?

It is 12.5 inches to the highest step from the ground, just measured mine.

Is this made of mdf? what kind of wood is it made of? where is it made?

Looks like 9-ply 12mm baltic birch plywood--an excellent and sturdy material, far superior to other plywoods. I'm going to order one of these and will update you when I verify the type of wood.

How do you clean this? Is it okay for a little water to spill on if used at a sink?

Just wipe with a soft cloth. It's OK for a little water to spill on the stool as long as it's wiped up. (The step stool is made of sealed wood; it's not just bare plywood.)

The wood is already finished. There are some stains that you can still apply or you can sand the step before applying a new stain. Worth a try.
