Works well
Must be working. The pipes never froze, despite minus 18 F here for 2 days. Lots of other people's pipes froze, but mine did not. The key is to realize that no heat tape can do the job without insulation to keep the heat in. Always insulate with fire-proof fiberglass over the heat tape. Then wrap plastic around that to keep the wind from blowing through the fiberglass. I put on several layers of bubble wrap after the plastic.

Fair price compared to the stores
Relatively easy to install. Durable rubber and hard plastic material. I wish it had a switch rather than having to plug in to turn on.

Another Love Hate purchase.
The Fob works great. The company gets 1/2 a star. Fob arrived with no instructions just a phone number. I called the # and the Lady that answered was pleasant. When I told her I needed programming Instructions she said she would transfer me to tech support and that I might have to leave a message: Guess what I got a recording mostly giving instructions on how to leave a message if you did not speak English. I didn't even bother. Went to google and got the information from another supplier. BTW read the instructions closely. when it says open the door leave it open and follow along word for word. It's kind of like doing the Hoke-Poke. Also to clear the programming mode. 1) You have to start the car 2) set the parking break 3) put the car in park 4) open all doors 5) close all doors 6) turn off the car 7) wait 60 seconds 8) do it all over again 3x or until they come and haul you off to the loony bin. Seriously though, there is a lot of steps but if you follow the instructions you will be successful and feel like you could do anything. The correct reset is just start the car and shut it off.

3 foot Cold Weather Pipe and Valve Heating Cable with Built-in Thermostat
Having short versions of heat tape is handy when long ones will not apply to small areas

Adequate quality but not really put to the test yet.
I’ve used these for 2 seasons in temperate NYC winters. Doubt they’ve had to even kick in but quality seems fine and I’ve had no fires thankfully so it’s the best review I can give.

Keeping my water flowing in single digit temps
We bought a mobile home in June, in going over various things I noticed the heat tape underneath for the incoming water line looked pretty ratty, I ordered and installed this one. The last 2 weeks have been single digit temps with some negatives overnight and the water continues to flow, so it looks like it does its job well.
