These are just as described. However, I have it hung around the top of my porch roof and it is on an automatic timer. I do not want it to run through the different modes. It does not have memory to turn it on to the mode it was on when it turned off. I have to go out every night with the remote and push the button to set it to the "steady on" mode. If anyone knows how to make it stay on one mode, I would appreciate the information.UPDATE: After I posted this review, ALOVECO US contacted me and provided instructions on the correct operation to receive the results I was looking for. Their advice worked perfectly and I am now able to give this product a 5 star rating. Thank you!

- First thing to note is that this is a light string with multiple colors of LEDs, in the same way that string-lights using incandescent bulbs have single-color lights - so this is NOT a string where every LED has multiple colors. That seemed to be a point of confusion in some reviews I'd read for this model. I assume that there *are* some items which have multiple LEDs in each "bulb", but that of course would run the price up significantly. Hey, it's always easy to find things that cost an arm and a leg if that's what someone wants and can afford... - The radio controller works, but not so well from the inside of the house and through brick. Also, I have these on timers, and the "program" seems to default to "Option 1", which is in my opinion far to circus-like with one fast-flashing patterns after another. I prefer the Slow Fade. If I can move well enough to get up onto a step ladder this evening, I'll see whether using the *button* to adjust the setting makes it "stick". - I bought Three sets, and one controller can operate all the sets, so I essentially have two "spares". - One thing that I think is especially nice is that the controller has a Dimmer option. These aren't the brightest LEDs I've had (I have one string I never use because it looks like a string of dang airport landing lights, Holy Angry Neighbors, Batman!!!), but it's still nice to have the option to adjust the brightness to fit one's situation :) - And yes, the "balls" are some form of plastic, but it seems to be pretty strong, because I had laid the strings out on the concrete patio and stepped on one (oops...!) and it didn't break - which was impressive!!!, LOL! They are translucent, white, and "frosted" in texture, which softens the light and makes it look larger than a bare LED would look. Actually, they look like the product photos: glowing balls. I liked the way the photo looked, which is why I tried them. I like it. - The cord is a "silver colored" (probably aluminum) wire inside a clear tube/"coating" which is pretty thick, meaning, protective. In the daylight, it's more subtle than solid-white or solid-green cords. My siding is light tan hardi-plank and light-tan-tones brick, so I like that this blends in pretty well. - If anything "bad" happens, I'll revise my review, but all in all, I'm totally satisfied with this purchase :).

These lights are great so far! They came packaged nicely and I was surprised that they could be plugged in for use. I thought they were only battery powered, but you have the option to do both. The remote works great as well, and I didn’t have to buy any batteries for that either. They have many different settings including the brightness which is nice to be able to change. Love them!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Perfect finishing touch for my garage man-cave, and the prettiest string lights I’ve ever seen.PROS:-Color.They are colored a light shade of red, orange, blue, and green.I like this because they look less like Christmas lights and more like lights you’d see at a beach bar.-Brightness.They are bright enough to work as functional lights. I can see fine in my garage even with only these on. (They do have a dimmer feature that lets them be more like candle brightness, but I’ve never found a need for this)-Durability.They are very well made. I even stepped on one by accident when i was setting them up and its fine. (The most delicate part is the connection from the plug to the light string, make sure its not too stressed)-The remote. The remote is something i didn’t even think i would need, but it totally brings it all together, i love being able to turn these on/off from my chair.CONS:-the lights arrived very tangled up, i suggest cracking open a cold beer before and after untangling them all.-the remote works from at most, 10 feet away. This wasn't a issue for me, but if your depending on using the remote this might matter to you.-the size of the actual lights. I’m happy with them, but because of the pictures i did expect them to be bigger than they are. In reality they are each the size of a quarter or water bottle lid.-the light effects it talks about aren’t that pretty to me, they just flash/strobe, or turn off certain colors. I never really use them. I think if there was a speed setting for the light effect patterns it would be perfect, because the effect patterns are too fast/crazy.Overall though I am THRILLED with this purchase, and I think someday down the road I will want a few more strings of these!Cheers!

I won’t use it outdoors so I have no idea if it is weatherproof. I can adjust the brightness and the light mode. A good choice for room’s decoration. Love it so much

UPDATE:: I had posted a bad review a few weeks ago, albeit in the heat of the moment, and ProGreen was so amazing. They reached out to me within 24 hours, refunded me for my purchase and sent another set of lights. Got them and they worked beautifully! We had the most magical tent at the farmers market! So thanks again! Love the product!••Original review: Got these, checked that they worked at home and they did. Took them to an event where I was using them for my main lightly source, they worked for 10 mins and then died. Never turned back on. Terrible product.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  The lights were longer than I expected! Lots to go around. I got these because I wanted bigger lights in addition to what I already had but this can be used for outdoors, trees, etc. I like the remote, it's easier to use than to push the buttons attached. Modes were fun (see my video of some of the different modes) and it's a warm white/yellow hue which makes my room seem cozy. The globes are pretty big, bigger than I expected as well and feels sturdy. The wires are not super thin, doesn't look like it breaks easily. But not too heavy, I was able to string them on these hooks on my wall (in that slight u shape). Would consider getting a multicolor one next! Will update on how they last through the holidays.

I put this up on our deck and it’s so pretty and warm. Adds a nice cozy touch for those backyard nights. The lighting level is warm. I’ve used it for a week and no issues, no flickering. Recommend.

have to be really close to the base for the remote to work. wish remote had better range
