what is the power outlet do

If you have a generator, you can have power in the tent as well. You don't have to be in a site that offers electricity. It keeps you from having extension cords through your zippered tent door and tripping over it. This question is obviously from an inexperienced camper. Critters and snakes can get into your tent if you don't keep it all zipped up. This allows you to run an extension cord into the tent and zip up the flap tight around the cord to keep the creepy crawlers out.

How tall is tent inside and door height?

I had the old version of this tent and the peak is tall enough that at 5'9 I could barely reach it. The walls are probably around 6ft with the doors being a little smaller. Very comfortable to get in and out of, even in 16c elizabethan dresses(my wife and I do reenactment).

There is a triangle covered screen in the awning...What is it for? It seems pointless and its driving me crazy!

I found my answer. I called the company. They said without it the awning would fill with rain in the middle and possibly, eventually pull the whole tent down.

How big is each room? Is it accurate to assume that each room is 8'x8'?

I did not physically measure each room, however, each room will fit a queen size air mattress and belongings ( middle area is the smaller of the 3.) We had 6 adults and 1 child that was easily accommodated in this tent. I have been camping for more than 25 years and this was worth every cent. Easy put up and take down. Hope this helped.
