I love this slicer! I have tried numerous slicers over 4 decades, spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars, but kept going back to my grandmothers old 1940's metal slicer! Our Family Holiday Meal Prep Tradition has been for me to seriously cut myself on that old, rusty slicer! Sadly true! I needed a new slicer and really scrutinized all of the options available on Amazon.com, because I'm now in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands and Amazon is the only on-line merchant to ship to St. Thomas. This mandolin slicer interested me because: -It was a one piece slicer. No additional parts and pieces to keep track of. -It had No loose changeable blades. The blades are all attached -It had a dial on the side that changed slicing thickness and style of slice; NO fussing with individual sharp blades! -It had a built-in, collapsible stand to have the right angle for slicing and then it can be stored flat in a drawer -It had a separate hand held food holder with movable grippers to hold the food item and protect your hands -It was made of a quality metal to be very sturdy & is rust resistant. -It was dishwasher safe! It was the only one that I've seen with all of those attributes for such a good price. So, I decided to give it a try and placed the order. It shipped quickly to St. Thomas, USVI - 1,000 miles south of Miami, FL across the Atlantic! I used it for the first time last night and love it! It was everything the Amazon description said it was! The tomato for the BLT's was so easy to slice and easy to adjust the desired thickness. The hand held food holder worked great - better than expected. Then I just put it through the dishwasher! And, then it stored easily in a drawer! I'm very pleased with this purchase after searching for a good slicer for over 40 years! I highly recommend it to everyone.

PROTECT HUMAN FLESH I really like this mandolin! it slices really nice, clean and fast! BEWARE: fingers may look far away, but it‘s easy to get carried away with the easy slicing! Finger tips bleed a lot, and we don’t want either in whatever we’re fixing. This mandolin isn’t bulky, doesn’t have useless parts to clutter or get lost. It’s the only one of the many I’ve had over 30 years that I want to use again. Even though I’ve been pained using it. (Will I still need the guard if I use my palm instead of fingers?) The guard is actually different from others, it’ll allow thinner slicing. The first two times I used it, iit took finger slices with the zucchini then potato. That hurts! And takes a couple of months to recuperate, then are still sore. My daughter used it but didn’t pay attention to the guides under the guard, used it sideways, so sliced slivers of that into the broccoli slaw, which wasn’t pleasant to bite into. Now I need to replace the guard. Everything negative about this mandolin is OPERATOR FAILURE

Great Slicer! Wide surface and longer than my old, cheap plastic one. Got stainless because we're removing toxic plastic with its endocrine disrupters from our lives. Nice, solid unit, very sharp blade, easy to adjust thickness of slice. Chose this one because the slices can be made thinner than most other mandolins. Thought the thing came apart for easier cleaning, but instructions don't say so & couldn't find a way to do that. Lost a star because first thing my honey deep sliced a finger getting it out of its plastic bag-there should be a way to guard that sharp blade, and you can't tell which side is sharp since it's all steel. Also if it came apart, would be happier for ease of cleaning. Good, quick shipment.

The stand on this thing is a little wobbly. I had to fix it with some padding but it looks ugly now. That being said, it is sharp and gets the job done in no time. I can slice my onions really thin and so quickly. On a timing scale, it cut down my knife work from 15 mins to 4 mins(including cleanup)

I purchased this slicer at the same time as my dehydrator and I can't imagine not having it. I can slice anything super quick and and have consistently sized pieces. I have learned that it is helpful to keep a chart of the best sizes for my favorite things. The blade is super sharp and before I learned my lesson, I did have a couple cuts so be careful! This slicer is easy to clean because the adjuster knob comes out.

It looks sharp and it is sharp. My 1st test-a tomato. Good job... 2nd test-onion. my onions were paper thin. Great job. I will definitely use my cutting glove with this item. It slices so fast and sharp that it seems like the prudent thing to do. Update: Since purchase my impression of this slicer has improved. There is a variable knob for slicing. Paper thin to good chunks. My previous slicer had preset values. It is super easy to clean. I use my sprayer and it's ready to go again. I still used my cutting gloves. I can see it has the ability for slicing your fingers as well as potatoes. A GREAT PRODUCT

Amazing time saving slicer! We purchased two of these products due to the great price. One was for my family, and we gave the other to a relative. We've both agreed that the product is stable, safe, and a time saver! It's very simple to cut most of your vegetables if not all in reduced time. We've used the Adjustable Mandoline Slicer for carrots, cucumbers, and even potatoes. Don't hesitate! I have to add that it is very easy and simple to clean. The adjustable blade makes it perfect for different vegetable and fruit groups. It's a top product and great to have in the kitchen. Everyone can use more time!
