Roadside Assistance
I'm not sure how I feel about this. I read through it quickly, so it kept my interest. I liked Cyn and Foley. I liked the banter between them. I liked Foley's persistence and dedication. I liked that Cyn had body issues and while she dwelled on it so much it became tiring in a way, that is the kind of thing that never really goes away, so it seemed real. I didn't like that their relationship happened SO quickly. I didn't like that Foley seemed to withhold a good bit of information about his past. And I was so sick of hearing about how Cyn was gorgeous and how every guy wanted to bang her. I guess it's good she had that going for her or she'd never get back her sense of self worth after she let her mother ruin her self image. :-\ Also, I haven't read any of the books in any of the related series, so the end (last chapter, I think), when all the various families started to be mentioned in such a rush, I started to lose interest, rather than wanting to go buy those books and read about those characters, too.I will probably read Sam's story when it's available. He seems like he will love hard.

Would've been better as an NA romance...
I really had one issue with this book, which kept disrupting my enjoyment while reading. This book really should've been an NA romance. The characters in this book were presented as being in their early 30s. However, they spoke and acted like they were barely out of their teens. By mentally resetting the characters' ages in my head, and basically ignoring the author's given ages, I was able to enjoy this book. I don't read romance for realism. I want to escape reality for a while and enjoy an HEA. That being said, I would have given this book more stars if it hadn't found that this perception on my part kept jarring me out of the story.Did I enjoy this book? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes, but with the reservation listed above. To anyone reading this review, you may not have the same perception as I, or even if you do, it may not have the same effect on you. If this would be a non-issue for you, then I think you would enjoy the book. This is the only book I have read by the author.

That mom sure sounds familiar
Read this as part of the on-going project to help a friend compile a booklist for members of her group of adult children of parents with PTSD. In this case the PTSD is caused by the mother's PTSD over her sister's suicide which mom handles by abusing her daughter about her weight because Cyn (short for Cynthia) is built on the same lines as the deceased sister who never married and abusive mom is convinced her sister never married because she was too fat to appeal to any man. So she harasses Cyn but n0t where anyone in the family can hear. Because mom is so sweet and loving to anyone else, no one believes Cyn, which only adds to the abuse and her own PTSD. But mom gets caught making vicious comments to Cyn and her husband and son insist mom goes into therapy. Cyn is vindicated. Our hero, Foley, is not an ambitious guy. he likes his life but when he lays on Cyn, he is a goner for her curves and her brains. Cyn is not planning to stay in town for the long haul and that's Foley's challenge to convince her.

Another Hit!
Another hit by Marie Harte, great read as expected. A lot of emotional issues with Cyn and Foley is just the right man to love her unconditionally. Sam has his issues but all the characters came together in the end. Can't wait for Sam's story.

Review
I debated between three and four stars for this. 4 stars won out because I did laugh some times.Okay my biggest problem: Cyn had a problem going down on him because she didn't know him well enough... BUT she let him inside her without a condom????? WHAT IN THE WORLD LOGIC IS THAT?!?!?!? Someone's PLEASE explain that to me.Two: I'm not a fan of other people's POV in a book. It was nice to see sams but it didn't help the book. It was more an annoyance and the one time their mother had a POV... that was just unneeded. And what happened to the pet carrier. It was mentioned many time thought out the book. Then the ending was... rushed. All of a sudden BAM.I gave this four stars because in the end I liked how cyn stood up for herself. That's really the only reason I gave this four stars. I like to see a strong person do that. This book just didn't pull me in. Normally when I read a book I can't put it down. This one i could take it or leave it. I finished it because I wanted to know what happened and I'm glad I did. A part of me wants to read the next book just fir Sam but then a bigger part of me doesn't.

This book made me happy.
This book made me happy. I think it was the banter, the instant click, the relationship itself that just made sense. I really liked both characters. Harte wrote them in a way that made them seem perfect for each other. Foley is a mechanic with a handsome yet rough exterior and a good heart. Cyn is an entrepreneur and curvy woman who is successful with business but not with love. They meet when Cyn comes into the shop with attitude about cars parked in front of her bakery, and Foley is intrigued. He asks her out, but she turns him down. Eventually he wins her over, etc. I do have to say, Foley and Cyn's sexual relationship seemed to happen awfully fast. Even Foley was surprised. Also, Harte has written their first sexual encounter in a similar way in at least one of her other books. As for the story, everything the characters went through as a couple was understandable, the insecurities, etc. I'm glad Cyn eventually stood up for herself. As for the next book, I'm a little wary of Sam. He really seems to be emotionally messed up. Overall, loved Foley and Cyn's story, and can't wait for the next.
