I really enjoyed this book. I’m a design book junkie. I definitely have a different design aesthetic than the author but the information in the book works for everyone. I am a veteran thrifter but only stores and occasionally flea markets so I appreciate the info on the other venues. I own my own home staging business with the occasional interior design client and after 6 years I am ready for more design work as well as retail sales based on resale of thrifted and upcycled items. I found the information relevant, interesting, and helpful in taking my next steps. If you have any interest in thrifting this is a really good book!

This book was a great find! It’s chocked full of interesting information regarding vintage finds. It gives lovely pictures of how to decorate with your finds as well! It’s perfect for the vintage/ antique lover in your family!

As an instagram follower of Virginia Chamlee for many years I pre-ordered this book and anxiously waited for it to arrive. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed - it was so WORTH the wait! Just like stumbling on that long-looked for item on your holy grail thrifting list this book is a treasure and delight. While there were helpful thrifting tips I'd already learned through my many years of exploring there were still many many more pointers that I picked up in reading this. Virginia shares indicators of quality to look for, describes what to look for in finishes of certain items, places to shop, whether bargaining may work in different environments and why, and explains why it really doesn't matter if what you want and love is considered valuable or not - that personal taste trumps all and creating your home environment is a truly personal and important indicator of ones own amazing personality. Big Thrift Energy is the book I would give to any fellow thrifter or home decor lover who follows the beat of their own drum. It's wonderful and a beautiful book to display also.

i’ve been a loyal follower of the author for years and pre-ordered big thrift energy the moment it became available. it’s a must-have for vintage + thrifting lovers by an endearing, cheeky expert.a fun, approachable resource to the wide world of vintage and thrifting, virginia makes the stuffy - and at times, junky - world of old things feel approachable and exciting. armed with virginia’s tips + tricks, dust-filled thrift stores, creepy garage sales, and the like are thrilling adventures.in short, i love how virginia captures - and eagerly shares - a more accessible, inviting world of pre-loved goods. no longer does that world feel reserved for the bored rich who have a penchant for obscure china patterns, which i too thoroughly enjoy. yet, i digress.in short, big thrift energy is a must-have for long-time thrifters and newly-minted collectors. readers will enjoy her wit and find the love she has for her craft palpable.

I have followed Virginia Chamlee via various blogs and her writings for many years. I was fortunate that she lived in my hometown and I was able to meet her and become friends. She is as talented as they come, and this book is a tribute to the hard work, passion and drive that she has for everything that she does. Her inspiration, her grandmother Joy was literally named what she was, a Joy. Her influence on Virginia is palpable, and this book is a forever tribute to her. I am a thrifter and a flea market stalker (cultivated by my Mom!), and Virginia and I bonded over that. I have highly anticipated (and not patiently!) the release of this book and it’s even better than I imagined. If you have any passion for curated, collected and unique style, you cannot pass up Big Thrift Energy.
