This was exactly the part I needed to replace on my 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid. It was an absolute pain to install, not by fault of the part at all, but because it is just a difficult spot to reach under the hood. It took me about 2 hours to do it and I'm not much of a "car guy" beyond doing my own oil changes.My check engine light came on about 3 years ago during a long road trip, but then turned off a few days later. Then it popped back on and off two or three more times before coming on and staying on a couple of months ago. A code reader at the local auto parts store told me that the problem was the engine was running too cold because my engine coolant thermostat was stuck open. I didn't see anything obviously wrong with the old one when I took it out (it looked almost exactly the same as this one), but upon installing the new one, the check engine light has gone off and my mileage has increased about 10%, which is a nice bonus with $5 gas.

original was warped and slight crack do to heat. This item seems better plastic and overall built better

Lasted about 200 miles then started leaking removed and inspected sealing sufaces not sure what was the problem so hard to get to did not feel good about try it agan just replaced with factory thermostat

Nice thermostat assembly! Great price too. Used it on a 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid, which was experiencing low capacity symptoms with the HV battery. Well, since there is no coolant temperature gauge, (heater temps were poor) I had to make an educated guess that the thermostat was bad. Replaced it with this unit and instantly we had better battery capacity and the engine shut down sooner, utilizing electric mode much more often. Felt like a new car. (For those of you wondering why a new thermostat would help a hybrid battery have more capacity, engine temps are (partly) how Ford's computer algorithms determine when to use hybrid mode.)

Pain to install depending on it's location in the engine bay. But the product is working flawlessly.
