Excellent kit.
I am a counted cross stitch enthusiast who has recently been exploring the world of kits (rather than buying a chart only and then supplying my own fabric and flosses). I have collected well over a dozen Dimensions counted cross stitch kits and have yet to be disappointed by any of my purchases. This company is probably the largest supplier of needlework kits available today and they produce many counted cross stitch designs (my preference) as well as stamped cross stitch, needlepoint, and crewel embroidery kits. (And yes, there is a difference between the above mentioned styles of needlework.) My guess is that most people just acquainting themselves with the craft of counted cross stitch are familiar with the Dimensions brand as their kits are easily found in chain craft stores and online. As far as quality goes, you cannot go wrong with a kit manufactured by Dimensions. One of the best features this brand has adopted is their PRE-SORTED palette of the floss (thread) needed to stitch the design. The older kits contained bundles of floss which you had to separate yourself - a time consuming and somewhat frustrating activity for most stitchers. Personally, I don't mind sorting the flosses myself as Dimensions gives good directions to aid you, but I confess it saves a lot of time with that step already completed. The directions are crystal clear and the charts are nicely printed with CLEAR symbols and illustrations of the stitches required (cross stitch, backstitch, and - sometimes- French knots). With YouTube only a click away NO ONE needs to feel intimidated by an elaborate or detailed project. You're using the same basic three stitches you'd encounter in a smaller, less intricate design, so why hinder your selection? Go online and watch some videos on how to start your project, or how to go about the stitches required, and you're good to go! Just keep in mind these are projects that WILL require your time to complete. If you're not in a rush, then buy a design you love and will cherish and then relax and stitch a little bit each day. You'll really feel proud of your finished work.

Beautiful Stitch Kit
Love the kit, especially that all the threads were singled out, which made set up easier; However, the threads (floss) themselves are rather second rate. I understand they don't want you to buy the kit, and then make multiples of it, so they use their own floss numbering system, but it could use a better thread. Thread is apt to tangle easily, and every once in a while, you'll get thread that doesn't want to lay correctly. Would have been better to use DMC floss.

Five Stars for the Design
This was a fun project. My only criticism is the way Dimensions supplies their flosses. I don’t think they’re quite the quality of the DMC flosses I usually use. The directions are easy to follow, and a sufficient amount of flosses are provided.

Hours of Fun
The good: It was fun and took about 4 months working an hour or so a day. There are plenty of each thread and all are sorted. The pattern was easy to follow. The pattern itself is nice, assuming you like birds. The Bad: The needle that came with this broke during use, it would have been good to have two I had to make some modifications i.e. add half stitches because the pattern would otherwise have open spaces after outlining the shapes. This wasn't specified in the pattern.

Really fun project
I had a lot of fun doing this cross stitch. The materials were good quality. Although I don’t think the floss was DMC, it was still good quality and did not fuzz. I knew that would be easy to miscount stitches on this project, so I gridded the Aida with 4 pound fishing line. That was the first time I had ever done that on a project and it paid off so many times. When things did not line up with the grid, I knew that I messed up. So it would help me catch my mistakes quickly. The grid helped me to jump to anywhere on the chart that I wanted. I am going to do that to all my projects now. Definitely worth the time I spend watching videos on how to do it, and the extra time it took. This is going to be a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law. I think she is going to love it (she better, I had her pick it out 😂). It turned out so beautiful

Beautiful cross stitch!
This was my first large, counted cross stitch in 20+ years so it took me 3mos to complete. But I did finish it just in time to give it to my mom for her Mother’s Day gift! She loved it! The colors are bright and vivid. The variety of birds makes you want to just sit and look at it for a long time. I had plenty of thread. My only complaint- it did not iron out completely flat.

Horrible quality and overly complex pattern
I have been cross stitching since I was 7 years old and would consider myself an experienced cross stitcher. The pattern is an overly and unnecessarily complicated mess of mixed-up cross stitches, half stitches, and back stitches. However, my real issue is with the quality of materials. The floss included with the kit is TERRIBLE. It breaks, knots, and splits like nobody’s business. It can take me 15min just to cut and thread a new color because it breaks and knots before I even get it unwound from the card. I’m sure I would end up far short on floss because I’ve had to toss so much due to knotting and splitting. I just finished a kit from another company and the difference in quality is night and day!!! I will never order another Dimensions brand cross stitch kit again. I have about 10 hours into this with very little to show for it, thanks to the splitting and breaking floss, and just decided it isn’t worth the hassle anymore. It will go in this week’s trash. DO NOT BUY unless you are looking for a frustrating, rather than relaxing, experience.

sage ich mal. Original Dimensions Packung made in China. OK.

This kit is beautiful. It’s a lot of work because of all the detail but it is totally worth it. I have been cross stitching for 40 years and this is my favourite project so far. It is off to be framed and then will be a 50th wedding anniversary gift for dear friends.
