Galaxy Vinyl Black, Fabric by the Yard

Very durable, not cheap, looks great and easy to cut with no fray.

I used this vinyl to make a skirt for my RV trailer so the material has been subjected to all kinds of conditions. Knowing that is not the intended use for it, I decided to give it a try because it’s such a great price, I would not be out much if it didn’t work out. I’m so very glad I took the chance because it’s held up beautifully. Not only that but it was much easier to work with and a much higher quality of material than I expected. In fact, this review is for the second purchase I made for another project I am working on. Both orders came faster than expected and rolled instead of folded so there were no crease lines. It’s so refreshing to buy something that exceeds your expectations these days. I can’t speak to how their customer service is because I haven’t needed to. They did their job and got both orders right the first time around - also very refreshing! Highly recommend both the fabric and the seller.

Just got it in the mail and here are my impressions:- the fabric was shipped on a roll, which I appreciate as it seems like if you were to fold it, it would crease- the exterior vinyl seems durable- the interior has this white felting like material. I'm not sure it will hold up. There are some areas on the fabric where it looks thinner; I wouldn't be surprised if it came off. I may actually try to remove it on a scrap piece.- the fabric is lighter than the photo. I relied on another reviewer's photo for an accurate color and received exactly that color. Thank you reviewer who made the WW bag!- I've included a bunch of photos showing measurements and the color. I ordered 3yds and received 109" on one side and 111" on the other side. Fabric measures just under 55" in width. Thickness is around 2-3mm. I put some common sewing items on top of the fabric for color reference and took 2 pictures outside in natural light, one of which is next to my black security door.I will try to remember to update my review after I've sewn my project! I gave it 4 stars because I'm not impressed with the backing.

I bought this to make covers for my couch cushions. With 3 dogs, I need something I can wipe off easily. I have slipcovers, but taking them on and off is a hassle and I would have to do that a few times a week. It's the same problem with other couch covers. I was always doing laundry just for the dogs. This vinyl works great and it looks nice. The color was true to the picture. I made some quickie covers for the couch and I love them. I will be purchasing more and will try to sew some covers that are more tailored. It's easy to sew, but if you are sewing larger covers, vinyl gets heavy to maneuver. I would love to have slipcovers made from this.

I purchased two separate rolls of this fabric to re-upholster my Pilates equipment from the drab, dark colors to something more fun and feminine. I was expecting the dark, berry color and decided that I would "work" with it, but when it arrived, I was ecstatic that it was more of a carnation/hot pink, which was perfect. This fabric is nice and thick with a felt backing. It feels more like vegan "leather". The two rolls were plenty to cover my Pilates Tower, chair, and reformer extender, with quite a bit left over. I consider that a great deal for under $15 for both rolls.

I bought this thinking it would be stretchy pleather for sewing crafts and such, and it’s more for upholstery and larger crafts. Very thick and seems sturdy, white underside for gluing/batting ect. It looks like decent quality! I just don’t have anything to use it for unfortunately

I purchased this material to patch a "not so obvious" spot on a leather sofa. I bought it mainly because the color looked about right. It is fairly reasonable to what is shown in the photos. I did the patch job and the color is pretty good. This fabric is kind of lightweight but, that makes it easy to work with. It is fine for what I did but, I may want something heavier for an application of heavy use.

I used this to reupholster 3 kitchen bar stools. It worked perfectly. The vinyl looks nice and suited very well for these stools. It has just been a few days, but it seems like it will hold up nicely. It looks great and I also used 2 inch thick foam - also from Amazon.This vinyl was very similar to the original vinyl on my stools - so its a great choice.Reupholstering is hard work - from removing all the old staples, to cutting the thick foam, to stapling the new vinyl. I have an electric stapler and I used A LOT of 3/8 inch staples. Probably 1/4 inch apart all around the perimeter.
